Mrs. Carol Sue (McCracken) Hite, age 69, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on August 22, 1944, in Manchester, Indiana, the loving daughter of the late, James William, Sr. & Leora Etta (Barrows) McCracken. She was raised in Manchester, Indiana, where she attended school. Carol was united in marriage on May 2, 1959, in Kenton County, Kentucky, to the late, Kenneth Lee Hite. Carol & Kenneth shared 52 years of marriage together until Kenneth's death on November 4, 2011. Carol was a former Waitress & Supervisor for the Ogle Haus Inn in Vevay, Indiana, retiring in 1997, after 12 years of service. She was a former Sole Lay for the US Shoe Factory in the Bottom Room in Vevay, Indiana, for 15 years. Carol resided in the Vevay Community, since 1972 & in her early years in Rising Sun, Indiana. Carol lost her battle to cancer on August 17, 2014, with her loving family by her side. Though her loved ones are going to miss her dearly, Carol's husband greeted her with open arms. Carol will be remembered for her love of cooking, dancing, muscle cars, nature & spending time with her family. Carol was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother & sister. Carol died at 7:28 pm, Sunday, August 17, 2014, at her residence in Vevay, Indiana.

Carol will be missed by her daughter: Loretta Hite of Vevay, IN; her son: Rodney Hite & his wife: Mandy of Ellettsville, IN; her granddaughters: Sherry Edwards of Vevay, IN, Stephanie Jones of Vevay, IN; her great-grandchildren: Jessie, Damian, Tristan, Samantha, Jacob, Robby, Whitney, Roman, Saxton & Caitlyn; her brother: Carlos McCracken of Lawrenceburg, IN; her sister: Patsy Coy of Rising Sun, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents: James William, Sr. & Leora Etta (Barrows) McCracken; her loving husband of 52 years: Kenneth Lee Hite, died November 4, 2011; her brothers: Johnny Barrows, Robert McCracken & James McCracken; her sisters: Dorothy Boston, Joyce Estes, Leora McCracken & Thelma McCracken; her half-sisters: Mary Jane Sanders & Grace McCracken.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, August 21, 2014, at 1:00 pm, by Rev. Mike Cantrell, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
