Mr. Paul J. Ballard, age 75, of Florence, Indiana, entered this life on March 15, 1939, in Vevay, Indiana, the son of the late, Lawrence "Dean" Ballard & Georgia May (Amos) Ballard-Coy. He was raised in Vevay, Indiana, where he attended school. Paul was united in marriage on July 14, 1984, in Kansasville, Wisconsin, to Sharon Ann Blodgett. Paul & Sharon shared 30 years of marriage together until his death. Paul was a former Iron Pourer for the J.I. Case Foundry in Racine, Wisconsin, retiring in 1999 after 25 years of service. He had resided in the Racine, Wisconsin Community for 35 years & moved to the Florence, Indiana Community in 1999. He was a member of the Union 180 in Racine, Wisconsin. Paul will be remembered for his love of deer hunting, fishing & gardening. Paul died at 10:15 pm, Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.
Paul will be missed by his loving wife of 30 years: Sharon Ann (Blodgett) Ballard of Florence, IN; his sons: Larry Ballard & his wife: Sherry of Huntington, WV, Melvin Ballard & his wife: Jennifer of Moores Hill, IN, John Ballard & his wife: Amy of Racine, WI; his grandchildren, Crystal, Kara, Anna, Miranda, Kevin & Jennifer; his great-grandchildren: Cory Hansell, Karleigh Hansell, Ryan Ballard & Nevaeh Yorn; his brother: Thomas Ballard of East Enterprise, IN; his half- brother: Louis Allen Coy of Cincinnati, OH; his half-sister: Lois Konkle of Somerset, KY; his several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Lawrence "Dean" Ballard & Georgia May (Amos) Ballard-Coy; his son: Bryan Ballard, died in 2013; his step-son: Jeff DuVall, died July 6, 2012; his great-grandson: Colten Hansell; his brothers: Don Ballard, died March 6, 1998, Martin Jay "Jack" Ballard, Sr., died November 11, 2001 & Earl Ballard.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, September 6, 2014, at 11:00 am, by Bro. Roy Duckworth, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the Florence Cemetery, Florence, Indiana
