Life Story for Mrs. Sue "Granny" (Potter) Claxton

Mrs. Sue "Granny" (Potter)  Claxton
Mrs. Sue "Granny" (Potter) Claxton, age 71, of Bennington, Indiana, entered this life on December 11, 1942, in Hite, Kentucky, the loving daughter of the late, Carl & Dallie (Gibson) Potter. She was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she attended school. Sue was united in marriage to the late, Delbert Claxton & to this union arrived two daughters, Sheena & Suzie to bless their home. Sue was a member of the Dearborn Baptist Church in Manchester, Indiana. Sue will be remembered for her love of being a wonderful homemaker, gardening, keeping a meticulous lawn, crocheting, quilting, but most of all, cooking & preparing wonderful meals for her family & friends. She enjoyed rescuing stray animals that needed her special care & nursing them back to health, such as her hummingbird & her pet pig, These fond memories of Sue will forever be in the hearts of many that knew her. Sue loved to make people laugh & will truly be missed by her family & friends. Sue died at 8:14 pm, Saturday, September 6, 2014, at the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Sue will be missed by her daughters: Sheena Truesdell & her husband: Rob of Canaan, IN, Suzie Stockdale her companion: Rick Watterson of Madison, IN; her grandchildren: Christopher Otter, Mathew Otter, Greg Truesdell, Phillip Truesdell & Chelsey Peters; her great-grandchildren: Layne Otter, Christilynn Otter, Landon Johnson, Brently Truesdell, Adysen Armand; her sisters: Madge Chambers of Batavia, OH, Barbara Murphy of Batavia, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Carl & Dallie (Gibson) Potter; her husband: Delbert Claxton; her grandson: Patrick Otter; her granddaughters: Kelly & Kim Otter; her sister: Theda L. Seal; her brother: Clyde Potter.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, September 13, 2014, at 10:00 am, by Pastor Darrell Sparks, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana

Friends may call 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Friday, September 12, 2014, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.
