Mr. George D. Ramsey, age 78, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on March 29. 1936, in Lexington, Kentucky, the loving son of the late, George Dewey & Mary B. (Covington) Ramsey. He was a 1954 graduate of Vevay High School. George was united in marriage on January 19, 1957, in Anderson, Indiana, to the late, Mary Carolyn Marshall & to this union arrived three daughters, Kim, Terri & Tanya & a son, Eddie to bless their home. George & Mary shared 53 years of marriage together until Mary passed away on December 8, 2010. George was employed in maintenance for General Motors in Anderson, Indiana, for 20 years. George was employed in maintenance at Randall Textron in Vevay, Indiana, for 5 years, where he was President of the union. George co-owned & co-operated Ramsey Grocery Store in Center Square, Indiana, for 5 years. He was Plant Manager for Madison Precision Industries in Madison, Indiana, for 20 years. He was a former Switzerland County Auditor, from 1993-1994. George resided in the Switzerland County Community since 1968 & was a member of the Center Square Church of Christ in Center Square, Indiana. George enjoyed mowing & watching Old Westerns on television. George died at 12:52 am, Saturday, October 4, 2014, at his grandson's residence in Madison, Indiana.
George will be missed by his daughters: Kim Fornash of Madison, IN, Terri Wright & her husband: Terry of Jonesboro, AR, Tanya Pike & her husband: Billy of Bennington, IN; his son: Eddie Ramsey of Madison, IN; his grandchildren: Eric, Aaron, Krystal, Matt, Tamara, Stacey, Amanda, Sydney & Will; his great-grandchildren: Caleb, Angel, Anthony, Draven, Cassidy, Easton, Zoe, Lili, Shaelyn, Jace, Eli & Ramsey; his sisters: Gladys Lucas of Vevay, IN, Peggy Furnish & her husband: Jerry of Versailles, IN; his sister-in-law: Janice Ramsey of Vevay, IN; his several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: George Dewey & Mary B. (Covington) Ramsey; his loving wife of 53 years: Mary Carolyn (Marshall) Ramsey, died December 8, 2010; his grandson: Brett Fornash died May 13, 2012; his brother: J.C. Ramsey, died April 3, 2004.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at 2:00 pm, by Bro. Don Truesdall, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
