Life Story for Mr. David Wayne Johns

Mr. David Wayne Johns , age 61, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on January 25, 1953, in Milan, Indiana, the son of the late, George Daniel & Ethel Rose Alberta (McKinley) Johns. He was raised on the family farm on Tapps Ridge in Vevay & was a 1971 graduate of Switzerland County High School. David was united in marriage to Christy Scott & to this union arrived two beautiful children, Brandon Wayne & Rebecca Rose to bless their home. David was a Quality Control Supervisor for Randall Textron in Vevay, Indiana, for 24 years & transferred to Flemingsburg, Kentucky to the Tinnerman Plant (Division of Randall Textron) for 13 years when Randall Textron left Vevay. He was a member of the Fredonia Baptist Church on Tapps Ridge, sons of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 & a volunteer for many years for the Switzerland County American Red Cross. David will be remembered for his love of golfing & fishing. David passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at his residence in Vevay, Indiana.

David will be missed by his daughter: Rebecca Adams & her husband: Dougie of Madison, IN; his son: Brandon Johns of Frankfort, KY; his grandchildren: Hayley Adams, Kensley Adams, Jayden Johns & Brayden Johns; his brother: Steve Johns & his wife: Tammy of Rising Sun, IN; his sister: Brenda Kay Rayles & her husband: Donald Gene of Vevay, IN; his sister-in-law: Donna Miller & her husband: Don of Vevay, IN; his nephews: Brack Rayles & his wife: Jami, Craig Johns & his wife: Shannon; his nieces: Lisa Asher & her husband: Rowland, Jeana Dawn Rayles; his great-niece: Sarah Asher; his great-nephews: Ethan Rayles, Gibson Rayles, Eli Rayles & Trenton Barrett. He will be sadly missed by his extended family: Mark Scott & Connie Scott McCarty.

He was preceded in death by his parents: George Daniel & Ethel Rose Alberta (McKinley) Johns; his brothers: George Robert "Bobby" Johns & Michael Ray Johns; his nephew: Ryan Daniel Rayles.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 16, 2014, at 1:00 pm, by Rev. Ronald Sandidge, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
