Phyllis Jean (Becknell) Miller, age 69, of Dillsboro, Indiana, formerly of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on August 19, 1945, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of the late, Carl Becknell & Hazel Marie (Judd) Thacker. She was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she graduated high school & attended college for 2 years. Phyllis was united in marriage on May 11, 1991, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Carl Miller. Phyllis was a former CNA & a Private Duty Nurse for several years. She attended the Uptown Church in Cincinnati, Ohio & the Truth Apostolic Church in Vevay, Indiana. Phyllis resided in the Vevay Community, for 16 years & later moved to the Dillsboro Community in 2008. She was a wonderful homemaker & enjoyed painting & going to the casino. Phyllis was a devoted mother, grandmother & sister. Phyllis died at 9:00 am, Thursday, December 4, 2014, at her daughter's residence in Rising Sun, Indiana.

Phyllis will be missed by her sons: Frank Thacker of TN, Carl Junior Davis of Cincinnati, OH, Anthony Wayne Davis of Rising Sun, IN, Kevin Carl Davis of Florence, IN; her daughters: Tonya Renee Miller-Torres of Rising Sun, IN, Vera Marie Zuern of Miamisburg, OH; her grandson she raised: Kevin Carl Miller of Dillsboro, IN; her 16-grandchildren; her numerous great-grandchildren; her sisters: Irene Becknell of Brown County, OH, Mary Ann Barricklow of Dillsboro, IN; her brothers: Raymond Thacker of Alexandria, KY & Buddy Becknell of Booneville, KY.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Carl Becknell & Hazel Marie (Judd) Thacker; her sister: Helen Mason Becknell; her brother: Kermit Lee Becknell, her infant brothers: Roy C. Becknell & Donald Jack Becknell.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, December 8, 2014, at 1:00 pm, by Bro. Anthony Wilks, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
