Mrs. Annabelle S. "Ann" (Slack) Beckett, age 69, of Franklin, Indiana, formerly of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on August 23, 1945, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of the late, Albert U. "Ben" & Dorothy (Scudder) Slack. She was raised in Switzerland County, Indiana, where she was a 1963 graduate of Vevay High School. Ann was united in marriage on April 3, 1965, at the Church of Christ in Greendale, Indiana, to the late, Kenneth LeRoy Beckett & to this union arrived two daughters, Stacia & Melissa to bless their home. In 1985, Ann earned her Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing at the Marion College in Indianapolis, Indiana & later earned her Masters in Nursing at IUPUI in Indianapolis, Indiana. Ann & Kenneth shared 30 years of marriage together until Kenneth passed away on April 25, 1995. Ann was a former Registered Nurse for the Franciscan Health Care at the Saint Frances Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana, for 3 years & for the Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, for 10 years. She taught at the IVY Tech Community College, University of Indianapolis & Marion College in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was a charter member & past president of the Sigma Theta Sorority in Indianapolis, Indiana & a member of the Kappa Kappa Kappa Sorority in Vevay, Indiana. Ann was a member of the Ruter Chapel United Methodist Church in Vevay, Indiana. Ann enjoyed needle work, shopping & keeping a meticulous lawn. Ann died at 5:07 am, Sunday, January 4, 2015, at her residence in Franklin, Indiana.

Ann will be missed by her loving daughters: Stacia Patarino & her husband: Michael of Franklin, IN & Melissa Beckett Fowler of Goshen, IN; her grandchildren: Adam, Sarah, Anna, Abbigail & Karoline; her brothers: Fred Slack & his wife: Vivian of Port Richey, FL & Robert "Bob" Slack & his wife: Pat of East Enterprise, IN; her nieces: Amy, Beth & Michelle; her nephew: John; her great-nieces & great-nephews: Liz, Sara Beth, Annalee, Katie & Paul.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Albert U. "Ben" & Dorothy (Scudder) Slack; her husband: Kenneth LeRoy Beckett, died April 25, 1995.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 10, 2015, at 11:00 am, by Rev. Bob Cannon, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the New Liberty Cemetery, East Enterprise, Indiana.

Tri Kappa will be conducting a service at 7:30 p.m., Friday, January 9, 2015, at the funeral home.
