Mrs. Darlene (Lewis) Evans, age 54, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on September 11, 1960, in Madison, Indiana, the loving daughter of the late, Benny & Melvena (Warner) Lewis. She was raised in Switzerland County, Indiana & was a 1979 graduate of the Switzerland County High School. Darlene was united in marriage on April 10, 1998, in Vevay, Indiana, to James Earl Evans & to this union arrived a daughter, Cheyenne Marie to bless their home. Darlene & James shared nearly 17 years of marriage together until her death. Darlene was currently employed in the Deli at the IGA in Vevay, Indiana, for 2 years. She was a former employee for the Vevay Tourism, for 5 years. She resided all of her life in the Switzerland County community. Darlene enjoyed beading jewelry, reading & her family. Darlene was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt & dear friend. Darlene passed away at 2:55 am, Monday, January 12, 2015, at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana.

Darlene will be missed by her husband: James Earl Evans of Vevay, IN; her daughter: Cheyenne Marie Evans of Vevay, IN; her sister: Teresa Olson of Vevay, IN; her nephew: Shawn Olson.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Benny & Melvena (Warner) Lewis & her son: Christopher Lee White, died May 4, 1992.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 23, 2015, at 11:00 am, by Bro. Jeremiah Haynes, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
