Life Story for Jack Dwight Eugene McElfresh

Jack Dwight Eugene  McElfresh
Mr. Jack Dwight Eugene McElfresh, age 69, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on May 17, 1945, in Dayton, Kentucky, the son of the late, Luther Woodrow & Ruth Betty (Buschard) McElfresh. He was raised in Dayton. Kentucky, where he graduated high school. Jack was inducted into the United States Navy on February 26, 1963, in Dayton, Kentucky. He was discharged on May 24, 1963 in Great Lakes, Illinois. Jack was employed as a cab driver in Cincinnati & Dayton, Ohio & Newport, Kentucky, for several years. He was also employed for Eureka Williams Vacuum Company in Bloomington, Illinois, for several years. Jack resided in the Vevay community the past 5 years. Jack enjoyed driving the Amish around in Switzerland County, Indiana for the past 15 years. Jack will be remembered for his love of playing computer games & card games. Jack died at 3:45 pm, Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood, Kentucky.

Jack will be missed by his fiancée: Doris Howell of Vevay, IN; his daughters: Debbie McElfresh of Manchester, KY, Lottie Tyree of Manchester, KY, Lisa Larson of Eldorado, IL, Beth Ann Caviness of Rantoul, IL; his sons: Joseph McElfresh of Memphis, KY, Tony McElfresh of Aurora, IN; his step-daughter: Florence Barger of Manchester, KY; his grandchildren: Alechia, Teresa, Caroline, Emanuel, Charlie & Andrew; his great-grandchildren: Laura, Robert, Jacob & Stanley; his brother: Robert Lee Case of Cold Springs, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Luther Woodrow & Ruth Betty (Buschard) McElfresh; his brothers: Norman Woodrow McElfresh & James Case; his sister: Debora Lucille McElfresh.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday March 4, 2015, at 1:00 pm, by at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.

Friends may call 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm, Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.
