Life Story for Michael Wayne "Mike" McCarty

Michael Wayne "Mike"  McCarty
Mr. Michael Wayne "Mike" McCarty, age 54, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on September 1, 1960, in Madison, Indiana, the loving son of the late, Junior Elisha & Louella LaVerne (Peters) McCarty. He was raised in Vevay, Indiana & was a 1979 graduate of the Switzerland County High School. Mike was united in marriage on April 4, 1987, at the Brushy Fork Baptist Church, by Rev. Rick Hardin, to Connie Rae Scott & to this union arrived a daughter, Megan to bless their home. Mike & Connie shared 28 loving years of marriage together until his death. In his early years of life in high school, Mike was employed for Tolbert's Petroleum, for several years. Mike was a self-employed contractor, for 20 years. He also was employed for the North American Stainless Steel Company in Ghent, Kentucky, for 3 1/2 years until he was hurt on the job. Mike was a member of the Gideon's International Switzerland County Camp & the Switzerland Baptist Church. He was a former member of the Lion's Club in Vevay, Indiana. Mike will be remembered for his love of fishing, hunting & mentoring children & young adults. Mike was a devoted husband, loving father, brother, uncle, nephew & dear friend & will be missed by his community. Mike died at 10:15 pm, Monday, June 8, 2015, at his residence in Vevay, Indiana.

Mike will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 28 years: Connie Rae (Scott) McCarty of Vevay, IN; his daughter: Megan Winter & her husband: Otis of Independence, KY; his sisters: Pamela Johnson & her husband: Kenny of Vevay, IN, Christy Watterson & her husband: Donnie of Hanover, IN & Cathy Wells of Austin, IN; his nieces & nephews: Bethany Kleopfer of Hanover, IN, Blake Kleopfer of Hanover, IN, Jessica, Joseph & Jean Ann Wells of Austin, IN, Tracy Mess & her husband: Kevin of Aurora, IN, Michelle Maddox & her husband: Chris of Aurora, IN, Brandon Johns of Frankfort, KY, Rebecca Adams & her husband: Dougie of Moorefield, IN; his 3-great-nieces & his 3-great-nephews; his aunts & uncles: Karen Miller & her husband: Norman of Vevay, IN, Ingrid Peters of Vevay, IN, Charlie Peters & his wife: Vicki of Vevay, IN, Rita Wise & her husband: Marvin of Madison, IN, Luke McCarty & his companion: Katherine of Milton, KY, Jerry McCarty & his companion: Dottie of China, IN, Roland McCarty of Madison, IN, Loretha Baker of New Philadelphia, OH, Verna Walters of Elkton, MD, Athalene Stewart of Madison, IN & Roberta Konkle & her husband: Jim of Vevay, IN; his sister-in-laws: Marsha Brett & her husband: Gary of Rising Sun, IN, Christy McMahan & her husband: Donnie of Madison, IN & his brother-in-law: Mark Scott & his wife: Michelle of Newark, OH.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Junior Elisha McCarty, died August 22, 2011 & Louella LaVerne (Peters) McCarty, died November 8, 2014; his aunts: Wanda Banks & Mozella McCarty; his uncles: Thurman McCarty, Kenneth McCarty, Delmer McCarty, Glen McCarty, Abner G. McCarty & Harold Peters & his cousin: Tycia Lynn (Peters) Sigmon-Martin.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 13, 2015, at 11:00 am, by Rev. Ron Lee, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.

Friends may call 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Friday, June 12, 2015, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.
