Life Story for Paul Robert Webber

Paul Robert  Webber
Mr. Paul Robert Webber, age 70, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on March 3, 1945 in Madison, Indiana, the son of the late, Thomas Robert & Jeanette (Turner) Webber. He was raised in Vevay, Indiana and was a 1965 graduate of the Vevay High School. Paul was inducted into the United States Army on February 23, 1966, in Louisville, Kentucky, serving during the Vietnam War. He earned the Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the Marksman Rifle. On December 15, 1972, he entered into the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged on December 14, 1987 with the rank of Sergeant. He served in the Army Reserve for 5 years, 11 months and 30 days. Paul served his country for 22 years, 11 months and 30 days. Paul retired from maintenance for Grand Victoria in Rising Sun, Indiana, after 14 years of service. He was a former maintenance employee for Randall Textron Inc. in Vevay, Indiana for 27 years until it closed. He helped his uncle farm for Russell Peelman for several years. He resided all of his life in the Vevay community. He was a volunteer firemen for the Jeff-Craig Fire Department for over 40 years. He was a member of the Center Square Church of Christ in Center Square, Indiana, the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and the Vevay VFW Post #5396. Paul enjoyed working, playing with his nieces and nephews, playing softball when he was young and visiting with his neighbors. Paul died at 2:33 pm, Sunday July 5, 2015, at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville, Kentucky.

Paul will be missed by his sister: Alice Bye & her husband: Frank of Madison, IN; his brother, James Webber & his wife: LaDonna of Hanover, IN; his nieces & nephews: Christina, Anthony, Chentain, Darrell & Rita; his great-nieces & great-nephews: Amber, Austin, Brittany, Blake, Issac, Hailey, Natalie & Tyler.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Thomas Robert Webber, died October 14, 1972 & Jeanette (Turner) Webber, died July 26, 2014; his sister: Julia Webber; his niece: Shonna Webber; his great-nieces: Katie & Allie Bye.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, July 9, 2015, at 11:00 am, by Bro. Don Truesdell, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Full military rites & Interment will be conducted at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana by the Honor Guard of the Vevay American Legion Post #185, the Vevay VFW Post #5396 and the Fort Knox Ceremonial Unit.

Friends may call 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043. The Jeff-Craig Fire Department will conduct firemen services at 7:30 pm, Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at the funeral home.
