Life Story for Carolyn Ruth Lohide (Facemire)

Carolyn Ruth  Lohide (Facemire)
Mrs. Carolyn Ruth (Facemire) Lohide, age 82, of near East Enterprise, Indiana, entered this life on July 30, 1932, in Rising Sun, Indiana, the daughter of the late, Ralph Price & Edna (Cochran) Facemire. She was raised in Rising Sun, Indiana where she was a 1950 graduate of the Rising Sun High School. In her early years, she had a paper route, worked at the local drug store, helped her parents publish the Ohio County News and worked at the dry cleaners in Rising Sun, Indiana. After graduating high school, Carolyn was employed as a line worker for Seagram's Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Carolyn was employed as a teller for the Federal Reserve Bank in Cincinnati, Ohio. Carolyn was united in marriage on February 17, 1951, by Rev. Frank Reed at the Rising Sun Christian Church, to the late, Edward George "Ed" Lohide and to this union arrived two daughters, Georgia and Mona and a son, Mark to bless their home. Carolyn and Ed shared 59 years of marriage together and became a real farm wife until he passed away on October 19, 2010. Carolyn always helped her husband on the family farm in every way she could. She was a former employee at Rieman's Grocery Store in East Enterprise, Indiana. Carolyn was a former teller for the East Enterprise State Bank and later the Vevay Deposit Bank in East Enterprise, Indiana, from October 1974 to December 1994. She was a member of the Rising Sun United Methodist Church, the Vevay American Legion Post #185 Ladies Auxiliary and the Vevay VFW Post #5396 Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the East Enterprise Homemakers Club, where she was the 2001 homemakers district representative. Carolyn was currently taking care of the Bovard Cemetery and Littlefield Cemetery in East Enterprise, Indiana and formerly took care of the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Aberdeen, Indiana. She was a faithful caregiver to her husband, Ed and visited him everyday at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana, for over 5 years until he passed away. Carolyn resided for the past 62 years where she helped her late husband on the Lohide family farm near the East Enterprise community. Carolyn will be remembered for a very industrious life and enjoyed bowling, crafts and her cats. Carolyn passed away at 4:48 pm, Monday, July 20, 2015, at her residence near East Enterprise, Indiana.

Carolyn will be missed by her son: Mark Lohide & his wife: Lee Jaye of near East Enterprise, IN; her daughters: Georgia Lee Williams & her husband: Cliff of Sunman, IN & Mona Carol Vickroy & her husband: Robert of Crestview, FL; her grandchildren: Jason, Teri, Raymond, Dane, Matthew, Megan, Christopher & Candice; her great-grandchildren: Kirsten, Dominque, Kaitlin, Aaliyah, Daelyn, Jayde, Josselyn & Harper; brother: Jack Facemire & his wife: Mary Kay of Gallipolis, OH; her sister-in-laws: Ruth Lohide of near East Enterprise, IN & Wilma Lohide of Rising Sun, IN; her several nieces & nephews & her very good friend: Charles Martin of Aurora, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Ralph Price & Edna (Cochran) Facemire; her husband of 59 years: Edward George "Ed" Lohide, died October 19, 2010; her daughter-in-law: Darlene (Iceberg) Lohide; her son-in-law: Don Bandy; her father-in-law & mother-in-law: Lawrence K. & Minnie P. (Sanders) Lohide; her sister-in-law: Louise Gayle; her brother-in-laws: Charles E. Lohide & Karl F. Lohide.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 25, 2015, at 10:00 am, by Rev. Mike Jones, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Rising Sun New Cemetery, Rising Sun, Indiana.

Friends may call 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Friday, July 24, 2015, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Auxiliary Services will be held at 7:30 pm, Friday, July 24, 2015, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Switzerland County Emergency Unit. Cards are available at the funeral home.
