Life Story for Betty Jean Mishler (Martin)

Betty Jean  Mishler (Martin)
Mrs. Betty Jean (Martin) Mishler, age 74, of East Enterprise, Indiana, entered this life on June 15, 1941, in Switzerland County, Indiana, the daughter of the late, Margaret Anna Martin, who passed away on November 24, 1995. She was raised in Switzerland County, Indiana where she was a 1959 graduate of the Patriot High School. After high school, Betty was employed for the US Shoe Factory in Vevay, Indiana. Betty was united in marriage on September 4, 1959 to Paul Eugene Griffin and to this union arrived two daughters, Susan and Lisa to bless their home. Betty was later united in marriage on April 27, 1973, at the Mount Sterling Baptist Church in Mount Sterling, Indiana, to the late, John E. Mishler. Betty and John shared 23 years of marriage together until he passed away on October 30, 1996. Betty was a former Clerk for the Osborn's Clothing Store in Vevay, Indiana. She was a former Stocker for IGA and SuperValu and enjoyed delivering groceries to the elderly folks in the Vevay community for several years. She was also a former employee for the chicken factory in Albertville, Alabama. Betty resided in the Switzerland County community since 1992. She attended the New Liberty Baptist Church in East Enterprise, Indiana. Betty enjoyed feeding deer and birds at her home, especially doughnuts from the grocery store. She also loved golfing, flowers and her cats. But most of all, Betty enjoyed shopping, especially on the QVC Shopping Network. Almost every day the Fed Ex Mail Carrier would deliver a QVC Package to her home. Betty was a devoted mother, grandmother and sister. Betty passed away at 3:48 am, Sunday, August 9, 2015, at her residence in East Enterprise, Indiana.

Betty will be dearly missed by her loving daughters: Susan Renee (Griffin) Darling-Covington & her husband: Duane of Bennington, IN & Lisa Ann Creech & her husband: James of Aurora, IN; her grandchildren: Heather McAlister, Jason Skipworth, Kaitlyn Darling & Chris Creech; her great-grandchildren: Gunnar, Kelsey, Kyle, Ryan, Lilyana, Blaine, Kennli & Parker; her sisters: Ginny Leap & her husband: Donnie of Vevay, IN & Ruth Lohide of East Enterprise, IN & her several nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother: Margaret Anna Martin, died November 24, 1995; her 2nd husband: John E. Mishler, died October 30, 1996 & her brother-in-law: Charles E. Lohide, died October 13, 2006.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, August 13, 2015, at 11:00 am, by Rev. Mike Jones, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Florence Cemetery, Florence, Indiana.

Friends may call 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.
