Mr. Billy Ray "Red" Wilhoite, age 57, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on June 11, 1958, in Vevay, Indiana, the loving son of the late, Donald C. Tucker and Dorothy Mae Wilhoite. He was raised in Switzerland County, Indiana where he attended school. Red met the love of his life, Barbara Ann Thomas and was later united in marriage on March 10, 1984 at their home in Cincinnati, Ohio. Red and Barb resided in the Cincinnati community for 10 years. They shared 31 years of marriage together until his death. Red was employed for the US Shoe Factory in Vevay, Indiana and for the Town of Vevay, for several years. Red was currently the groundskeeper for the Vevay Switzerland County Foundation in Vevay, Indiana, for the past 15 years. He was a member of the New Life Fellowship Church in Vevay, Indiana. Red enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and his furry companion, Soldier, hunting, fishing and yard work. Red was an avid Colts fan and enjoyed socializing with his friends. Red will be remembered for having a big heart and lending a helping hand to others in need. Red passed away at 7:11 am, Monday, August 17, 2015, at his residence in Vevay, Indiana.

Red will be missed by his loving wife of 31 years: Barbara Ann (Thomas) Wilhoite of Vevay, IN; his sons: Rusty Simpkins of Vevay, IN & Troy Simpkins, Sr. & his wife: Hope of Vevay, IN; his daughters: Heather Wilhoite & her companion: Charles "Bud" Purnell of Madison, IN & Rosie Rohmann & her companion: Glenn Scott of Vevay, IN; his grandchildren: Karista, Brianna, Torie, Troy, Jr., Piper, Amber, Faith & Mason; his brothers: Ronald Wayne, Steven Robert & Christopher Wilhoite all of Vevay, IN; his sister: Deborah Sue Wilhoite & her companion: Darrin White; his numerous nieces & nephews & his furry companion: Soldier.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Donald C. Tucker, died March 15, 2009 & Dorothy Mae Wilhoite, died May 14, 1998; his grandson: Domnic William Ray Wilhoite, died December 3, 2007 & his sister-in-law: Kim Wilhoite.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 17, 2015, at 10:30 am, by Pastor Larry Spoores, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
