Mr. Paul Eugene Griffin, age 77, of Rising Sun, Indiana, entered this life on September 2, 1938, in Laurel, Indiana, the son of the late, Jerry Eugene and Alta Mae (Johnson) Griffin. He was raised in Patriot, Indiana where he was a 1957 graduate of Patriot High School. Paul was united in marriage on September 4, 1959 to Betty Jean Martin and to this union arrived two daughters, Susan and Lisa to bless their home. Paul was later united in marriage on December 16, 1980, in Rising Sun, Indiana to Hazel Marie Liggett. Paul and Hazel shared 34 years of marriage together until Hazel passed away on October 6, 2014. Paul was employed as a Shift Engineer for American Electric Power Company Tanners Creek Plant in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, retiring in 1998 after 41 years and one month of service. He farmed for Harry Renyer in Patriot, Indiana for several years. Paul resided in the Switzerland County community for several years and in the Ohio County community since 1977. Paul attended the Concord Community Church in Patriot, Indiana. Paul enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, and watching all sports. Paul also enjoyed raising a garden, chickens, cows, tobacco and hay. His greatest love was his daughters, his grandchildren, his great-grandchildren, his siblings and his nieces and nephews and will be dearly missed. Paul passed away at 9:23 pm, Monday, January 25, 2016, at The Waters of Rising Sun in Rising Sun, Indiana.

Paul will be dearly missed by his daughters: Susan Renee Darling & her companion: Duane of Bennington, IN & Lisa Ann Creech & her husband: James of Aurora, IN; his grandchildren: Heather McAlister, Jason Skipworth, Kaitlynn Darling & Chris Creech; his great-grandchildren: Gunnar, Kelsey, Kyle, Ryan, Lilyana, Blaine, Kennli, Parker & Haven; his brothers: James Kenneth "Kenny" Griffin of Vevay, IN & Gerald Griffin & his wife: Carol of Preast River, ID & his several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Jerry Eugene & Alta Mae (Johnson) Griffin; his 1st wife: Betty Jean (Martin) Griffin Mishler, died August 9, 2015; his 2nd wife: Hazel Marie (Liggett) Griffin, died October 6, 2014; his brother: Charles Robert Griffin; his sisters: Dorothy Gillispie & Dolly Bowling.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 29, 2016, at 11:00 am, by Rev. Mike Jones at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Riverview Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana.
