Life Story for Edward Robert "Bob" Johnson

Edward Robert "Bob"  Johnson
Mr. Edward Robert "Bob" Johnson, age 62, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on July 19, 1953, in Vanceburg, Kentucky, the son of the late, James and Betty Lou (Lewis) Johnson. Bob was united in marriage on June 13, 1996, in Calhoun, Kentucky, to Melissa Ann Adams. Bob and Melissa shared nearly 20 years of marriage together until his death. He worked on several barges on the Ohio River for 15 years and worked on bridges for Intech Contracting Inc. in Lexington, Kentucky, for 10 years. Bob was employed for Labor's Union Local #795 in New Albany, Indiana, retiring in 2010 after 5 years of service. Bob resided in the Vevay community since 2005. He was a member of the Local Union #576 in Louisville, Kentucky and then transferred to Local Union #795 in New Albany, Indiana. Bob enjoyed playing chess, junking, watching John Wayne movies, fishing, driving in the country, spending time with his grandkids and being outside. Bob was a devoted hubby, dad and grandpa. Bob passed away at 5:15 pm, Friday, April 29, 2016, at his residence in Vevay, Indiana.

Bob will be dearly missed by his loving wife of nearly 20 years: Melissa Ann (Adams) Johnson of Vevay, IN; his sons: Jeff Johnson & his wife: Allison of Louisville, KY & Benjamin Robert Johnson of Flatwoods, KY & his grandchildren: Lilly, MaKayla & T.J.

He was preceded in death by his parents: James & Betty Lou (Lewis) Johnson & his sister: Sharon Faye Morris.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at 1:00 pm, by Rev. Donnie Meriwether, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Friends may call 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm, Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.
