Mr. Ronald W. "Ron" O'Banion, age 80, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on July 31, 1936, in Owen County, Kentucky, the son of the late, Kenneth and Estelle (Watts) O'Banion. He was raised in Owen County, Kentucky where he attended the Owen County High School. Ron was united in marriage on December 18, 1953, in Owen County, Kentucky, to Doris Dean Wainscott and to this union arrived a son, Bobby Dale and a daughter, Tammy to bless their home. Ron and Doris shared nearly 63 loving years of marriage together until his death. Ron was a former employee for the US Shoe Factory in Vevay, Indiana, from 1960 to 1967, Randall's Textron in Vevay, Indiana, from 1967 to 1997 and for R & B in Warsaw, Kentucky, from 1997 to 1998. He was also employed for Wal-Mart in Madison, Indiana, from 1999 to 2001. Ron resided in the Vevay community since 1957 where he was a faithful member of the Truth Apostolic Church. Ron enjoyed farming, raising tobacco and gardening. Ron will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. Ron passed away to be with his Lord and Savior at 1:12 am, Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.

Ron will be dearly missed by his loving wife of nearly 63 years: Doris Dean (Wainscott) O'Banion of Vevay, IN; his son: Rev. Bobby Dale O'Banion and his wife: Sue of Vevay, IN; his daughter: Tammy Sotherden and her husband: Steve of Vevay, IN; his grandchildren: Amber Hull and her husband: Joseph of Vevay, IN, Joel Sotherden of Vevay, IN, Elizabeth Dobson and her husband: Rex of Kokomo, IN and Tony O'Banion of Vevay, IN; his great-grandson: Aaron Joseph Hull of Vevay, IN; his sister-in-law: Patricia Fay O'Banion-Lippert of Frankfort, KY and his nephew: Brennan O'Banion of Owen County, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Kenneth and Estelle (Watts) O'Banion and his brother: Norman O'Banion.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 19, 2016, at 11:00 am, by Bro. Anthony Wilks, at the Truth Apostolic Church, 6160 Highway 56 Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
