Life Story for Marvin W. Burger

Marvin W.  Burger
Mr. Marvin W. Burger, age 77, of Cincinnati, Ohio, entered this life on July 31, 1939, in Danville, Kentucky, the son of the late, Claude Frances and Alma (Southerland) Burger. Marvin was proud that he and his granddaughter, Brittney Barnes shared the same birthday. He was raised in Danville, Kentucky and was a graduate of Forkhand High School in Gravel Switch, Kentucky. Marvin was united in marriage to Londalee Koons. In his younger years of life, Marvin was employed for the bakery in Danville, Kentucky and later moved on to the love of his life, the shoe business. He was employed for Genesco in Danville, Kentucky. He was later employed as a sales and service representative for the International Shoe Machine Corporation in Nashua, New Hampshire, from 1964 to 2000 and was also employed as a service manager and district manager for 36 years. He was later employed in 2000 for Gap Incorporated until he retired in 2007 when his health no longer permitted. Marvin was a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church in Fairview, Indiana. He attended the Shiloh United Methodist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. For the past several years, Marvin was lovingly cared for. On August 9, 2016 he entered Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. On August 16, 2016 he was transferred for therapy to Pristine Senior Living in Delhi, Ohio. On September 4, 2016, Marvin was taken back to Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio and later transferred to University of Cincinnati and then to Drake Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Marvin passed away at 12:40 am, Monday, September 19, 2016, at the Vitas Inpatient Hospital Unit in Cincinnati. Ohio. Each day the Master calleth some loved one to endless rest and our hearts tho filled with sadness can but say, He knoweth best.

Marvin will be dearly missed by his loving wife: Londalee (Koons) Burger of Cincinnati, OH; his daughters: Jennifer Kyle "Jenny" Boles of Crestview Hills, KY and Jacinda "Jill" Barnes and her husband: Jeff of Mason, OH; his grandchildren: Matthew Boles, Andrew Boles, Chelsea Boles, Bridget Barnes and Brittney Barnes; his sister: Ruth Cooley of Morehead, KY; his brother: Robert Burger of Danville, KY and his several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Claude Frances and Alma (Southerland) Burger; his brothers: Alton and Junior Burger and his sisters: Lucile Trailor, Zora Pike, Zula Wilson and Christine Warren.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 23, 2016, at 1:00 pm, by Rev. David Hood, at the Shiloh United Methodist Church, 5261 Foley Road Cincinnati, Ohio 45238.

Interment will follow in the Saint Joseph Cemetery, Cincinnati, Ohio.
