Ms. Jama Lois (Aldred) Hayes, age 58, of Madison, Indiana, formerly of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on April 7, 1958, in Milan, Indiana, the loving daughter of, James Edward Aldred, whom preceded her in death and Lois Irene (VanTyle) Aldred-Brooks. She was raised in Mt. Sterling, Indiana and was a 1976 graduate of the Switzerland County High School, where she was Homecoming Queen. Jama was united in marriage on May 24, 1976, at the Mt. Sterling Baptist Church in Mt. Sterling, Indiana, to Robert Eugene "Bob" Hayes. Jama and Bob shared 38 years of marriage together. Jama was employed in the cafeteria for the Switzerland County School Corporation in Vevay, Indiana, for 6 years. She was employed part-time for Lowe's in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, for 1 year. Jama was also employed for K&C Antique Mall in Vevay, Indiana. She was a Mary Kay Representative for 6 years and a security officer for Belterra Casino & Resort in Florence, Indiana, for 15 months. Jama was employed on March 2, 2015 as a correctional officer for the Madison Correctional Unit in Madison, Indiana. She was a member of the Olive Branch Baptist Church in Bear Branch, Indiana. Jama resided in the Madison, Indiana community since August 2015. Jama enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, raising rabbits and cats. Jama will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends. Jama passed away at 3:12 am, Monday, February 6, 2017, at her residence in Madison, Indiana.

Jama will be dearly missed by her mother and step-father: Lois Irene (VanTyle) Aldred-Brooks and her husband: Jim of Grammer, IN; her sisters: Marla Lamson and her husband: Loren of Vevay, IN and Anita Sanders and her companion: Dennis Catteron of North Vernon, IN; her niece and caregiver: Marlena Townsend and her husband: Donovan of La Grange, KY; her daughter: Angel Lyn (Hayes) Parr and her husband: James Michael of Vevay, IN; her grandchildren: Taryn Mickelle, Alyssa Nicole and Kevin Alexander Parr; her great-grandchildren: James Robert Huffner and Michael Alexander Parr; her several nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins and her husband of 38 years: Robert Eugene "Bob" Hayes of Mt. Sterling, IN.

She was preceded in death by her father: James Edward Aldred, died May 21, 1975; her son: James Daniel Hayes; her paternal grandparents: James F. and Mae (Taylor) Aldred and her maternal grandparents: Lawrence Earl and Mary Eliza (Sherman) VanTyle.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, February 9, 2017, at 11:00 am, by Rev. Wayne Daugherty, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
