Life Story for Carolyn M. Morton

Carolyn M.  Morton
Mrs. Carolyn M. (Copeland) Morton, age 91, of Pleasant, Indiana, entered this life on July 6, 1926, near Cross Plains, Indiana, the loving daughter of the late, Earl J. and Grace M. (Porter) Copeland. She was a 1945 graduate of the Cross Plains High School in Cross Plains, Indiana. Carolyn was united in marriage on November 10, 1945, in Correct, Indiana, to the late, Ralph Eugene Morton and to this union arrived two daughters, Rosemary and Rita and one son, Ronald to bless their home. Carolyn and Ralph shared nearly 64 years of marriage together until Ralph passed away on January 28, 2009. After graduating from beauty school in 1952 in Indianapolis, Indiana and receiving her beautician license in July 1954, Carolyn owned and operated Twinkle Beauty Shop in Pleasant, Indiana for 26 years. She co-owned and operated with her husband, Ralph, Morton Stone and Mill from 1969-1986. Carolyn was a faithful member of the Brushy Fork Baptist Church in Canaan, Indiana for over 50 years. Carolyn was very artistic and enjoyed painting and wood crafting. Carolyn passed away at 10:21 pm, Monday, November 13, 2017, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehab Center in Vevay, Indiana.

Carolyn will be deeply missed by her daughters, Rosemary Jessup and her husband: Garry of Pleasant, IN, Rita Shelley and her husband: David of Pleasant, IN; her son, Ronald Morton and his wife: Darlene of Pleasant, IN; her grandchildren, Brian Morton and his wife: Keisha, Bob Morton and his wife: Kristen, Amy Combs and her husband: Chad, Andy Jessup and his wife: Miriam, Adam Shelley and Jenna Shelley; her step-grandchildren, Andrew Haskell and his wife: Elyssa, Neal Haskell and Jacob Haskell; her great-grandchildren, Brittany Thayer and her husband: Aaron, Kinley and Kalli Morton, Garrett and Shelby Morton, Micah and Christian Jessup, Kylie and Kierra Combs; her step-great-grandchildren, Casen Haskell, Carter Haskell, Bryan Gonzales and Leilany Gonzales; her great-great-grandchildren, Peyton and Aubrey Thayer; her brother, Kenneth Copeland and his wife: Earlene of Benham, IN; her sister, Nancy Clem and her husband: Richard of Coatesville, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl J. and Grace M. (Porter) Copeland; her husband, Ralph Eugene Morton, died January 28, 2009; her brothers, Robert, Ross and Francis Copeland and her sister, Mary Lou Jolly.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, November 17, 2017, at 11:00 am, by Pastor Chris Clemans, at the Brushy Fork Baptist Church, 12840 Brushy Fork Church Road Canaan, Indiana 47224.

Interment will follow in the Brushy Fork Cemetery, Pleasant, Indiana.

Friends may call 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, November 16, 2017, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043 and Friday, November 17, 2017, at the church from 10:00 am until time of service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Brushy Fork Baptist Church. Cards are available at the funeral home.
