Obituary for Wanda E. Chase (Turner)

Mrs. Wanda E. (Turner) Chase, age 82, of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of Switzerland County, Indiana, entered this life on August 22, 1939 in Carroll County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late, Elic and Zelphia (Gulley) Turner. She was raised in Switzerland County where she attended Patriot High School. Wanda was united in marriage on June 20, 1958 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana to the late, Everett Louis Chase, Sr. This happy union was blessed with three sons, Russell, Robert and Everett and four daughters, Anna, Margaret, Annetta and Barbara. Wanda and Everett shared over 49 years of marriage together until he passed away on November 20, 2007. She was a former employee for United Hospital Services in Indianapolis, Indiana for a few years. In 1991, Wanda was employed as a security guard for Harrod Enterprise in Indianapolis, Indiana, retiring in 1996. Wanda attended the New Birth Ministry in Indianapolis, Indiana. Wanda was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed playing bingo and volunteering at the Salvation Army in Indianapolis, Indiana. She also enjoyed going to Belterra Casino & Resort and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. For the last 15 years, Wanda's granddaughter and her husband, Angel and Billy McQueary and their children, Destiny and Kendra were her wonderful caregivers. Wanda passed away at 11:37 p.m., Monday, September 20, 2021, at the Arlington Place Health Campus in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Wanda will be missed by her children, Russell Chase, Everett Louis Chase, "Jr." and his wife, Joanna, Anna Wessel Coy and her husband, Tommy, Margaret Patterson and her husband, Gary, Annetta Patterson and Barbara Hall and her companion, Daniel Newlin all of Indianapolis, IN; her 17-grandchildren, her 22-great-grandchildren and one to be expected; her sister, Linda Colen of Rising Sun, IN and her several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elic and Zelphia (Gulley) Turner; her husband, Everett Louis Chase, Sr.; her son, Robert Louis "Bobby" Chase; her brothers, William and Robert Turner and her sister, Ruby Meadows.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 24, 2021, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 24, 2021, by Rev. Tommy Glenn, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
