Obituary for Frank Dee Pike

Mr. Frank Dee Pike, age 86, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on July 6, 1933, in Russellville, Kentucky. He was the son of the late, Hiram Pike and Fannie (Penrod) Pike Bennett. He was raised in Russellville, Kentucky, where he attended school. Frank was united in marriage to Ann Hedges and they shared many years together. Frank was employed for Morrows Tobacco Warehouse in Madison, Indiana and for Kentuckiana Tobacco Warehouse in Carrollton, Kentucky. He was also employed for Charlestown Ammunition Plant in Charlestown, Indiana. He owned and operated a fertilizer business in Center Square, Indiana. In 2002, Frank earned the Silver Star Farm Award from the Switzerland County Soil & Water Conservation District. Frank farmed all of his life, raising cattle, dairy, tobacco and hay. In 2009, Frank grew a 64 pound watermelon that he was so proud of. Frank enjoyed hunting and going to AJ's Diner and socializing with his friends. Frank passed away at 8:10 p.m., Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.

Frank will be missed by his wife, Ann (Hedges) Pike of Vevay, IN; his sons, Franklin Dee Pike and his wife, Sharon of Erlanger, KY, William "Billy" Lee Pike and his wife, Tanya of Bennington, IN and David Gardner Pike of East Enterprise, IN; his step-daughter, Karen Downing and her husband, Scott of Sterling, KS; his step-son, Michael Saunders and his wife, Pam of Sellersburg, IN; his grandchildren, Derek Pike, Mariah Pike, Hunter Pike, Amanda Krall and her husband, Matt, Sydney Sefton and her husband, Trevor, Will Pike, Logan Pike and Emily Pike; his step-grandchildren, Matthew Downing and his wife, Kendra, Andrew Downing, Zachary Downing and Bradley Saunders; his great-grandchildren, Daxton Savage, Ramsey Krall, Locklan Krall, Maverick Sefton and Bexlee Sefton; his half-brother, William "Bill" Hardin of Hammond, IN; his half-sister, Evelyn Steel of Birmingham, AL; his sister-in-law, Mardell Pike of Vevay, IN; his several nieces and nephews and his faithful companion, Lady.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hiram Pike and Fannie (Penrod) Pike Bennett; his sisters, Lilly Mae Frey, Erma Moreland and Mary Renfro and his brother, Happy Chandler Pike.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 30, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., by Rev. Bobby O'Banion at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
