Obituary for Ella Jane "EJ" Pompa (Simpson)

Mrs. Ella Jane "EJ" (Simpson) Pompa, age 84, of Lamb, Indiana, entered this life on October 11, 1936 in Muncie, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late William and Ruby (Wright) Simpson. She was raised in Muncie, Indiana and was a 1954 graduate of Muncie High School. EJ was united in marriage on June 13, 1954 in Muncie, Indiana to the late James Ray "Jim" Pompa. This happy union was blessed with three children, Deborah, Peggy and Joe. EJ and Jim shared nearly 65 years of marriage together until he passed away on May 29, 2019. EJ was a wonderful homemaker, mother and caregiver. She was a member of the Union Baptist Church in Lamb, Indiana and was a former member of the Friends Memorial Church in Muncie, Indiana. She was also a member of the Belles of St. Mary Homemakers Club and the Women's Giving Circle. She volunteered her time for several years in the souvenir booth for tourism at the Swiss Wine Festival. EJ resided in the Lamb community since 1997. EJ enjoyed camping, reading and working crossword puzzles. EJ passed away at 2:02 p.m., Saturday, December 12, 2020, at the Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana.

EJ will be missed by her daughters, Debbie Coers and her husband, Mark of Muncie, IN and Peggy Fisher and her husband, Jeff of Eaton, IN; her son, Joe Pompa and his wife, Beth of Rose Hill, KS; her grandchildren, Bryce Coers, Natalie Mathes and her husband, Scott, Erik Fisher and his wife, Adrienne, Lindsay Hack and her husband, Todd, Craig Fisher and his wife, Kinsie, Adam Pompa and his wife, Kelsey and Andrew Pompa; her great-grandchildren, Norah Mathes, Mitchell Mathes, Brooks Mathes, Emma Fisher, Haley Fisher, Alex Fisher, Carter Hack, Jackson Hack, Graham Fisher, Seth Fisher and Kallen Pompa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruby (Wright) Simpson and her husband, James Ray "Jim" Pompa.

A Celebration of EJ's Life will be held privately at the convenience of the family at a later date.
