Obituary for Alberta Avalon Pickett (Wiley)
Mrs. Alberta Avalon (Wiley) Pickett, age 74, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on June 12, 1946 in Florence, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late Albert and Miriam Jeannette (Reeder) Wiley. She was raised in Switzerland County where she was a 1964 graduate of Vevay High School. Alberta was united in marriage on November 15, 1969 in Vevay, Indiana to Charles Brenen "Chuck" Pickett. Chuck and Alberta shared 51 years of marriage together until her death. Alberta was employed for the US Shoe Factory in Vevay, Indiana for several years until closing. She was later employed for Dorman Products in Warsaw, Kentucky for 10 years. She was a member of the Florence Homemakers Club and the Florence Church of Christ. Alberta enjoyed reading, babysitting, socializing and laughing with her family and friends. Alberta passed away at 11:47 a.m., Saturday, January 9, 2021, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.
Alberta will be missed by her husband, Charles Brenen "Chuck" Pickett of Vevay, IN; her daughter, Sheila Rininger and her husband, Casey of Vevay, IN; her son, Steven Fields and his wife, Anna of Rising Sun, IN; her grandchildren, Frank and Tiffany Rininger; her step-grandchildren, Clinton, Victoria, Jacob, Thomas, Casey and Brian; her brother-in-law, Gene Heath of Anderson, IN and her numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Miriam Jeanette (Reeder) Wiley; her brothers, Robert, Ivan and Norman Wiley and her sisters, Winifred Wiley, Mary Kay Truesdell, Joyce Noel and Alice Heath.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 15, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., by Bro. Roy Duckworth, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the Florence Cemetery, Florence, Indiana.
