Obituary for Barbara Ann Lock (Bliton)
Mrs. Barbara Ann (Bliton) Lock, age 72, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on November 3, 1949 in Milan, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late, Faye Wesley "Dude" and Dorothy L. (Pelsor) Bliton. She was raised in Canaan, Indiana and was a 1967 graduate of the Madison Consolidated High School. She received her business degree in 1969 from Ivy Tech Community College in Madison, Indiana. After graduation, Barbara was employed for Randall's Textron in Vevay, Indiana for two years where she met the love of her life. Barbara was united in marriage on February 22, 1969 in Madison, Indiana to Larry Gene "Zero" Lock. This happy union was blessed with two daughters, Saundra Denise and Beverly Ann. Barbara was employed for the US Shoe Factory in Vevay, Indiana for over 20 years. She was also employed as a host for tourist for Grand Victoria Casino & Resort in Rising Sun, Indiana for five years and for Fairway Inn in Florence, Indiana as a night auditor for eight years. Barbara and Larry shared 41 years of marriage together until he passed away on February 13, 2010. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and playing video games with her friends on the computer. Barbara especially enjoyed writing poems, crocheting and cooking, as well as, shopping, quilting and sewing. Barbara passed away at 8:09 p.m., Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana.
Barbara will be missed by her daughters, Saundra Denise "Sandy" Hankins and her companion, Phil Walton of Erlanger, KY and Beverly Ann Stivers and her companion, John McNally of Patriot, IN; her grandchildren, Brooke, Brandy, Amanda, Jessica, Lee, James, Daniel, Madison and Meredith; her great-grandchildren, Elijah, Larra, Jordan, Mason and Bailey; her brothers, Gary Hanley and his wife, Tana of New York and Bill Bliton and his wife, Becky of Texas and his several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Faye Wesley "Dude" Bliton, died August 8, 1987; her mother, Dorothy L. (Pelsor) Bliton, died July 16, 1998; her husband, Larry Gene Lock, died February 13, 2010; her brothers, Daniel Ardell Bliton, died June 17, 1984 and Garnett O. Bliton, died April 29, 2004 and her sister, Sheila (Bliton) Morris, died December 18, 2012.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 23, 2021, by Rev. Mike Jones, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
