Life Story for Bruce Owen Bennett

Bruce Owen  Bennett
Mr. Bruce Owen Bennett, age 56, of Patriot, Indiana, entered this life on December 19, 1961, in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late, James Robert "Jim" and Blanche Roberta "Bonnie" (Koons) Bennett. He was raised in Patriot, Indiana and was a 1980 graduate of the Switzerland County High School and attended the Southeastern Career Center in Versailles, Indiana. He became a certified diesel mechanic from the Cincinnati State College in Cincinnati, Ohio. Bruce was united in marriage on June 20, 1987, at the Patriot Baptist Church in Patriot, Indiana, to Shirley LuAnn Konradi. This union was blessed with two sons, Brandon Sawyer and Logan Tyler and a daughter, Natalie BreeAnn. Bruce and LuAnn shared over 31 years of marriage together until his death. Bruce was employed as an auto body technician for Ohio Valley Motors in Rising Sun, Indiana, from 1975 - 1988. On May 2, 1988, Bruce was employed as a diesel mechanic for Aurora Casket Company in Aurora, Indiana. retiring in January 2008, after 20 years of service. He was a member of the Patriot Baptist Church in Patriot, Indiana and was a former member of the Patriot Volunteer Fire Department. Bruce enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing with his children and tinkering, rebuilding and painting cars with his sons. He had a love for Chevrolet and Cub Cadets. Bruce enjoyed spending time with his friends, but most of all, spending quality time with his family and watching his children play sports. Bruce was a devoted husband, loving dad and special friend and will be sorely missed by all who he came in contact with. Bruce passed away at 4:29 a.m., Monday, September 3, 2018, at the St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Shirley LuAnn (Konradi) Bennett of Patriot, IN; his children, Brandon Sawyer, Logan Tyler and Natalie BreeAnn Bennett all of Patriot, IN; his brother, Wayne Duckworth and his wife: Evelyn of Patriot, IN; his sister, Amber Reed and her husband: Ronnie of Bennington, IN; his brothers- in-law and sisters-in-law, Sherry A. Fryman and her husband: Bobby of Milton, KY, Terry Mayfield and his wife: Clara of Aurora, IN, Gary Allen Konradi and his wife: Mary Jo of Rising Sun, IN, Connie S. Adkins of Patriot, IN, Nyoka L. Couch of Madison, IN and Ricky Wayne Konradi and his wife: Lacey of Patriot, IN; his best friend, Bob Scudder of Patriot, IN and his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Robert "Jim" Bennett, died February 9, 2001 and Blanche Roberta "Bonnie" (Koons) Bennett, died December 5, 2008; his paternal-grandparents, John Q. Bennett, Sr. and Alice Susan (Turner) Bennett; his maternal-grandparents, Clinton and Maggie (Ralston) Koons; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert Louis and Geraldine (Dickerson) Konradi; his brothers-in-law, Robert Louis Konradi, Jr., Ronald Eugene Konradi, Jack Adkins and Bill Couch and his step-grandmother, Charlotte Duckworth.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 7, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., by Rev. Mike Jones at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the New Liberty Cemetery, East Enterprise, Indiana.
