Mr. Charles Fred Brindley, age 86, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on December 2, 1932, in Switzerland County, Indiana, the son of the late, Harry and Ina Claire (Wolf) Brindley. He was raised in Switzerland County where he was a 1951 graduate of the Vevay High School. Charles Fred was united in marriage on May 2, 1952, in Madison, Indiana, to the late, Lela Mae "Lee" Reed. This happy union was blessed with a daughter, Sherry and a son, Michael. Charles Fred and Lee shared 55 years of marriage together until she passed away on November 21, 2007. Charles Fred was employed as a security officer for Belterra Casino Resort & Spa in Florence, Indiana, for 2 1/2 years. Charles Fred enjoyed farming and raising cattle. Charles Fred passed away at 8:10 p.m., Thursday, May 23, 2019, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.

Charles will be missed by his daughter, Sherry Holwager and her husband, Marvin of St. Louis, MO; his grandchildren, Ryan Brindley, Lee Ann Imel and her husband, Jason, Jenny Brindley and Allison Carrico; his great-grandchildren, Hannah, Jenna, Zack Caleb, Grace and Mason and his sister, Marilyn Buchanan of Columbus, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Ina Claire (Wolf) Brindley; his wife, Lela Mae "Lee" (Reed) Brindley, died November 21, 2007; his son, Michael "Mike" Brindley, died January 16, 1998; his granddaughter, April E. Griffin and his daughter-in-law, Pamela Sue "Pam" (Ralston) Brindley, died June 17, 2008.
