Obituary for Connie Jo Thies (Chase)

Mrs. Connie Jo (Chase) Thies, age 65, of Florence, Indiana, passed away at 9:20 a.m., Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at the Ripley Crossing in Milan, Indiana. Connie was born on May 29, 1956 in Madison, Indiana, the youngest daughter of Paul and Doris (Scudder) Chase. On April 24, 1981, she was united in marriage to Bruce Norman Thies in Rising Sun, Indiana. This happy union of nearly 41 years was blessed with a daughter, Heather. Connie was employed for the US Shoe Factory in Vevay, Indiana and later was employed for the Switzerland County School Corporation, retiring after 28 years of service. Connie enjoyed working with all the students, reading, working outdoors and spending time with friends and family. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandson, Weston.

Connie will be deeply missed by her husband, Bruce Norman Thies of Florence, IN; her daughter, Heather Bolton and her fiancé, Matt Hewitt of Versailles, IN; her grandson, Weston Bolton of Versailles, IN; her mother, Doris (Scudder) Chase of Florence, IN; her sister, Debbie Vann and her husband, Bud of East Enterprise, IN; her sisters-in-law, Alice Ashcraft, Rita Meyers, Joyce Thies, Penny (Steve) Brett and Lisa (Rodney) Gillespie.

She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Chase; her maternal-grandparents, Velma and Churchill Scudder and her paternal-grandparents, Clarence, Sr. and Mary Chase.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 19, 2022, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 19, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., by Rev. Mike Jones, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the New Liberty Cemetery, East Enterprise, Indiana.
