Life Story for Darrell Dewayne Yocum Jr.
Mr. Darrell Dewayne Yocum, Jr., age 39, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on January 13, 1980, in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, the loving son of, Darrell Dewayne Yocum, Sr. and Linda F. Land. He was raised in Switzerland County, Indiana and was a 1998 graduate of the Switzerland County High School. Darrell was united in marriage on July 30, 2008, in Vevay, Indiana, to Rachel Ann Ravenscraft. This union was blessed with three sons, Charlie, Austin and Alex. Darrell was employed for Belterra Casino & Resort in Florence, Indiana for a few years and was employed in maintenance for Wal-Mart for a few months. He was also employed for Arvin Sango in Madison, Indiana for several years and for American Racing in Warsaw, Kentucky for several years. Darrell enjoyed fishing, listening to music, NASCAR and was a Colts and UK fan. Darrell will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends. Darrell passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2019, near his residence.
Darrell is survived by his sons, Charlie Robert Wyatt Yocum, Austin Ryan Dwayne Yocum, Alex Levi Norman Yocum all of Patriot, IN; his mother, Linda F. Land of Vevay, IN; his brother, Christopher Yocum and his wife, Trudy of Vevay, IN; his step-siblings, Heather Johnson and her husband, Matt of Florence, IN, Angel M. Back and her husband, Justin of Pleasant, IN, Savannah N. Kurtz of Vevay, IN, Christian Stroud of Dillsboro, IN, Matthew Stroud and his wife, Shannon of Moores Hill, IN and Patrick Stroud of Vevay, IN; his maternal-grandfather, Donald Dale Land of Dillsboro, IN; his maternal-grandmother, Patty Ellen (Smith) Savage of Milan, IN and his numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Darrell Dewayne Yocum, Sr., died January 18, 2019; his sister, April Michelle Yocum, died May 20, 1989; his paternal-grandfather, Norman L. Yocum, Sr, died January 16, 2018; his paternal-grandmother, Linda Lou (Walton) Keith, died March 9, 2009; his paternal-step-mother, Sheena Alaine (Perry) Yocum, died October 2, 2015; his maternal-step-grandfather, George Savage; his paternal-step-grandmother, Joanne Marie (McCormick) Kelley-Yocum, died May 11, 2012 and his paternal-step-grandfather, Kirby Keith.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, February 15, 2019, at 1:00 p.m., by Bro. Roy Duckworth at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.
