Bom-Wrapper

The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Edward Dodd can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: Paula, we had no idea that Ed was battling a serious health issue. Ed was the kind of friend who stood out as great man and loyal friend throughout one's lifetime. We traveled a lot of miles together, and it was always reassuring to know Ed was "on our side!" I remember him as a "wide open" kind of guy. It was always "full speed ahead," whether he was driving a car, or whatever. He was the same kind of friend...wide open for you! I am saddened that I did not know, and consequently did not call him on occasion during his battle. I know "Big Ed" loved you with all of his heart...and his family. What a rock!

Rest assured Juanita and I have you all in our prayers. May Christ comfort you as only He can do. We love you guys !

Condolence From: Guy and Sharon Starr
Condolence: Paula,

Sharon and I are so sorry to hear of Big Ed’s
passing. He was a very special person
and we have all been friends for a
long time and have some great memories.

Sharon and I would not be where we are now
without you and Ed taking time to share your knowledge
and advice. You both have made a positive
impact on our lives. Thank you

I’m so glad that I called him a few months
back and that I got to tell him what he meant
to me. I know you and the kids are strong and
will persevere, that’s the way he would want it.

Love you guys,

Guy and Sharon Starr
that you and the kids are strong

Condolence: Sue and I really hated to hear of Ed's passing and to Paula and the family yo are in our thoughts as you progress thru this difficult time. We do know that you are strong (Ed just didn't have any patience for anyone that wasn't) which will carry you through. We greatly enjoyed the time that we were able to spend together when we weren't out battling the next project.

I have been fortunate enough to have worked with thousands of people in my career. There was noone that I had more respect for and confidence in than Mr. Ed Dodd. He had the experience, intelligence, personality and, of course, when necessary the forcefulness to handle any situation. Ed could easily build trust with any team because you just knew that his integrity was all important to him so people would unflinchingly follow where he lead. He will be greatly missed as the professional constructor that he was and the friend that he was.

Condolence: “Big Ed” was a great friend. I didn’t have to physically look up to too many people in my career, but Ed's towering height was always imposing. He was not easily intimidated. When he smiled, his grin was so wide that you could not help but feel good and appreciated. And if you were on the wrong side of the negotiating table, his towering presence and steely look could be most intimidating.

Ed knew how to talk to people and how to get them motivated. He could demonstrate his blue collar working knowledge of construction or his executive demeanor, all with equal ease. In all cases, he always came across as respectful, knowledgable and trustworthy. As Zig Ziglar would proclaim, "If people like you they’ll listen to you, but if they trust you they’ll do business with you.” Big Ed was both at all times.

Ed was always very proud of his family and would talk about Jennifer, Kimberly, Brian and Paula with great fatherly affection. He was very engaging with others and would help anyone who asked. He loved life and his outside activities centered around the family, boating, hunting and wine collecting.

Ed was a great Friend. He will be missed by all who knew him and will always be remembered with affection. May God comfort his loving family.

Condolence: Gail and I were so sorry to learn of the Giant’s passing. He was a good friend in College and afterwards. We spent some time together in Akron after College and would get together several times in recent years. One thing for sure, whenever I got together with him it was a good time. God bless you all during this difficult time. Gail and John Winterstella
