Obituary for Ellen Louise Tolbert (Marine)

Mrs. Ellen Louise (Marine) Tolbert, age 80, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on October 15, 1939 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of Everett Robert and Laura Evelyn (Hamilton) Marine, both of whom preceded her in death. She was raised in Mooresville, Indiana where she was a 1957 graduate of Mooresville High School. Ellen was united in marriage on March 23, 1957 at the Bluff Creek Christian Church in Johnson County, Indiana to Larry Tolbert. This happy union was blessed with two sons, Brent and Dale and two daughters, Daniele and Shannon. Ellen and Larry shared over 63 loving years of marriage together until her death. In 1978, Ellen was employed as a clerk for Tolbert's Petroleum in Vevay, Indiana, serving 22 years of service. She also helped operate Tolbert's Car Wash in Vevay, Indiana, until 2002. She was a member of the Olive Branch Baptist Church and Vevay Tri Kappa. Ellen was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed reading. She also enjoyed spending quality time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ellen passed away at 7:50 a.m., Monday, October 12, 2020, at the Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Ellen will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Larry Tolbert of Vevay, IN; her sons, Brent Tolbert and his wife, Kim of Vevay, IN and Dale Tolbert and his wife, Marylee of Vevay, IN; her daughters, Daniele Tolbert of Vevay, IN and Shannon Judy and husband, Rob of Florence, IN; her grandchildren, Joshua (Anna) Tolbert, Clinton (Brittany) Tolbert, Colton Tolbert, Erin (Shawn) Craft, Jason (Brooke) Craft, Nicholas Pavy, Baylie (Travis) Frazier and Dakota (Claire) Judy; her great-grandchildren, Yarik Tolbert, Vasya Tolbert, Cora Mirman, Bodhi Mirman, Hendrix Mirman, Lincoln Craft, Payton Pavy, Dakota Kane Judy and Sooner Frazier; her niece, Kyle (Gene) Ingalls and her best friends, Jim and Sharon Ray of Vevay, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett Robert Marine, died July 6, 1974 and Laura Evelyn (Hamilton) Marine, died August 23, 2007; her brothers, Emmett Myron Marine, died in 1935 and Everett Duane Marine, died July 17, 2005; her granddaughter, Angel Shae' Craft, died February 2, 1983 and her nephew, Michael Marine.

Due to COVID-19 masks are required along with social distancing. Friends may call 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 16, 2020, and from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 17, 2020 at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Due to COVID-19, masks are required along with social distancing. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 17, 2020, by Pastor Pat Lanman, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
