Obituary for Frances Colleen Miller (Stivers)
Mrs. Frances Colleen (Stivers) Miller, age 76, of Vevay, Indiana, and was the daughter of the late, Charles D. and Marjorie (Scudder) Stivers. Frances entered this life on July 5, 1946 in Switzerland County, Indiana. She was raised in Switzerland County and was a 1964 graduate of the Vevay High School. On June 14, 1968, Frances was united in marriage to Randall C. Miller at Plum Creek Baptist Church. This happy union of nearly 54 years was blessed with a son, Eric Robert Miller. Frances was employed as a clerk for Cole-Bakes Insurance in Vevay, Indiana for over four years. She served as Switzerland County Assessor for one term. Frances also worked for Marjorie Stivers for five years as the Deputy Assessor. She was a former employee for the Vevay Deposit Bank where she was a book keeper and assistant cashier for 11 years. Above all, Frances loved children and was a bonus mom to several of Eric's friends and neighbors. She also enjoyed gardening and loved Winnie the Pooh; Eeyore was her favorite character. Frances was a member of the Plum Creek Baptist Church and was currently the treasurer for several years. Frances passed away at 7:35 a.m., Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.
Frances is survived by her son, Eric Robert Miller and his wife, Megan of Vevay, IN; her grandchildren, Heather, Julian (Matty) and Macie; her great-grandchildren, Michael, Kylie and Preston; her brothers, John Stivers and his wife, Nancy of Edinburgh, IN, Bob Stivers of Vevay, IN, Mike Stivers of Scottsburg, IN and Bill Stivers of Madison, IN and her several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles D. Stivers; her mother, Marjorie (Scudder) Stivers; her husband, Randall C. Miller and her brother, Charles "Don" Stivers.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 25, 2023, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 25, 2023, by Rev. Mike Jones, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
