Life Story for Fred Abraham "Freddie" Turner
Mr. Fred Abraham "Freddie" Turner, age 71, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on August 15, 1947, in Patriot, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late, Curtis A. and Mary Margaret (Miller) Turner. He was raised in Patriot, Indiana where he attended Patriot High School. Freddie was united in marriage on November 21, 1970 in Patriot, Indiana, to Edna Ruth Ledbetter and this happy union was blessed with four children, Jennie, Susie, Johnny and Darrin. Freddie was later united in marriage on February 6, 2003, in Carrollton, Kentucky, to Cindy Jo Green. Freddie and Cindy shared over 16 years of marriage until his death. He was employed for North Bend Farms in Patriot, Indiana, for over 30 years. Freddie was employed in maintenance for Belterra Casino & Resort in Florence, Indiana, retiring in April 2018, after 18 years of service. Freddie enjoyed fishing, hunting, Cincinnati Red's, going to the casino, playing euchre and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Freddie passed away at 7:05 a.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at his residence.
Freddie will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Cindy Jo (Green) Turner of Vevay, IN; his children, Jennie Turner of Rising Sun, IN, Susie Turner of Rising Sun, IN, Johnny Turner of Vevay, IN and Joshua Mitchell of Fortville, IN; his grandchildren, Heather Turner, Mary Ann Dole and her husband, Jason, Meranda Turner, Darrin Wayne Turner, Jr. and Lily McFadden; his great-grandchildren, Hayden, Nevaeh, Annelise and Elanore; his brothers, Wayne Turner and his wife, Kathy of Patriot, IN, Jerry Turner and his wife, Belinda of Patriot, IN, Steve Turner and his wife, Sharon of Patriot, IN and Terry Turner and his wife, Karen of Rising Sun, IN; his sisters, Sue Jones and her husband, Mike of Vevay, IN, Lorraine Fugitt and her husband, Tim of Patriot, IN and Juanita Jackson and her husband, Joe of Rising Sun, IN; his several nieces and nephews and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Galen and Billie Green of Vevay, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis A. Turner, died July 5, 1985 and Mary Margaret (Miller) Turner, died October 28, 2008; his son, Darrin Wayne Turner, died February 16, 2011 and his grandson, Spencer William Turner, died November 5, 2004.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 6, 2019, at 1:00 p.m., by Rev. Mike Jones at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the Eastview Cemetery, Patriot, Indiana.
