Obituary for Freida Ball (Hall)
Mrs. Freida (Hall) Ball, age 71, of Indianapolis, Indiana, entered this life on March 18, 1948 in Gary, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late Robert Hall, Sr. and Ruthie Lee (Sims) Hall. Freida was raised in Gary, Indiana where she was a 1966 graduate of Emerson High School. She was united in marriage to Albert Ball, Jr. until he passed away on August 9, 1983. This happy union was blessed with four daughters, Lisa, Shawnda, Trina and LaTonya. Freida was a former employee for Hilton Garden Inn in Concord, California. She was a former housekeeping manager for Lee's Inn & Suites in Merrillville, Indiana retiring in 2009 after several years of service. She was a member of the Gabriel Missionary Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana where she was active on the Mother Board and called themselves the "Silver Saints." Freida will be remembered for her love of music, dancing, traveling, cooking and shopping especially when it came to shoes! Freida went to be with her Lord and Savior at 1:25 p.m., Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at her daughter, LaTonya's residence in Vevay, Indiana.
Freida will be deeply missed by her daughters, Lisa Yelder and her husband, Ronald, Sr. of Brentwood, CA, Shaunda Sherlock and her husband, Gregory of Phoenix, AZ, Trina Ball of Indianapolis, IN and LaTonya Brown and her husband, John of Vevay, IN; her grandchildren, Tierra Mays, Tevin Mays, Christopher Yelder, Takara Weatherspoon, Ryann Yelder, Ronald Yelder, Jr. and Raven Yelder; her great-granddaughter, Ava Grace Mays; her brother, Kevin White, Sr. of Gary, IN; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Peter and Ann Ball of Detroit, MI; her special niece and nephew, Marquita Ratliff and Donald Williams; her best friend, Denise Williams; her dear cousins, Cynthia Guy and Anniebea Shine and her several nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Hall, Sr. and Ruthie Lee (Sims) Hall; her husband, Albert Ball, Jr., died August 9, 1983; her brother, Robert Hall, Jr. and her sisters, Belinda Williams, Vanessa Hall and Donna Nelson.
Private family graveside service and interment will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 1, 2020 in the Evergreen Memorial Park, 3815 West 39th Avenue, Hobart, Indiana 46342.
