Obituary for Gerald H. "Gerry" Peters

Mr. Gerald H. "Gerry" Peters, age 80, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on April 1, 1941 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was the son of the late, Russell Harry and Myrtle Mary (Luken) Peters. He was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio where he was a 1959 graduate of Elder High School. Gerry received his Associate's degree in Applied Science from the University of Cincinnati in 1962. Gerry was united in marriage on August 17, 1963 at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Cincinnati, Ohio to Nancy Jean Sweeney. This happy union of nearly 59 years was blessed with three children, Sally, Andrew and Daniel. Gerry worked as a union carpenter (Local 739) in Cincinnati, Ohio for 30 years, retiring in 1988. Gerry had resided in the Switzerland County community since 1990. He was a member of the Most Sorrowful Mother of God Catholic Church in Vevay, Indiana. Gerry enjoyed going to the YMCA and woodworking. Gerry passed away at 5:44 p.m., Friday, March 18, 2022, at his residence in Vevay, Indiana.
Gerry will be missed by his wife, Nancy (Sweeney) Peters of Vevay, IN; his daughter, Sally Mulligan and her husband, Don of Cincinnati, OH; his sons, Andrew Gerald Peters and his wife, Suzanne of Union, KY and Daniel Gerald Peters of Cincinnati, OH; his grandchildren, Abbey Mulligan, Jake Mulligan, Emma Peters and Audrey Peters; his brothers, Jack Peters of TN, Tom Peters and his wife, Joan of Guilford, IN and Bob Peters and his wife, Terri of Cincinnati, OH; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Jody Sweeney of Harrison, OH and his nieces, Sue Kokulis and her husband, George of Boston, MA and Jennie VanMeter and her husband, Dan of Brookville, IN.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 25, 2022, at the Most Sorrowful Mother of God Catholic Church, 513 North Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
The Rosary will be prayed on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the church.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 25, 2022, by Father John Meyer at the Most Sorrowful Mother of God Catholic Church, 513 North Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery in Olean, Indiana.
