Obituary for Homer Lee "Butch" VanHook

Mr. Homer Lee "Butch" VanHook Jr., age 77, of Jamestown, Indiana, passed away at 2:51 p.m., Saturday November 6th, 2021. Homer was born on June 7th, 1944 in Stanford, Kentucky and moved to Indiana in 1952. He retired from Allison’s Transmission with 33 years of service in 2008. Homer was an active member of the North West Early Bird Meeting. He was a 1962 graduate of Triton High School, being in their first graduating class. When not contemplating fixing up a 1964 Mustang or woodworking, Homer spent countless hours pouring himself into his garden. His tomatoes were famous among his friends and family.

Homer is survived by his wife, Mary Seller VanHook; his daughters, Elizabeth VanHook, Tammy Bartlett, and Stacey Childs Fletcher; his son, Brad Childs; his brothers, William VanHook and Kevin VanHook; his sister, Mary VanHook Leonard and his numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sarah E. Ivy and Homer L. VanHook, Sr. and his sisters, Bobbi Sue Sauerwald and Linda Colwell.
