Obituary for Jack Lee "Tiny" Callahan

Mr. Jack Lee "Tiny" Callahan, age 82, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on January 23, 1938 in Stilesville, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late Walter Henry and Bessie E. (Thompson) Callahan. He was raised in Mooresville, Indiana and was a 1956 graduate of the Plainfield High School in Plainfield, Indiana. Jack was united in marriage to Gloria Patricia (Jones) Callahan and later to Elizabeth Callahan. Jack was later united in marriage on May 20, 2000 at the Ogle Park in Vevay, Indiana to Judith Ann McDowell Flowers. Jack and Judith shared nearly 20 years of marriage together until his death. Jack was employed as a construction worker for several years and was formerly employed as a shop foreman for Northside Trailer Sales and Service in Carmel, Indiana, retiring in 2000 after 21 years of service. Jack was a former Town of Vevay employee for two years and for Clifty Falls State Park in Madison, Indiana as a security gate guard for seven years. Jack was also employed for Arvin Sango in security for seven years. Jack was a former member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #155 in Carmel, Indiana and the Sons of the Vevay American Legion Post #185. He was a member of the Friendswood Baptist Church in Friendswood, Indiana. Jack enjoyed darts and string art and will be deeply missed by his loving family. Jack passed away at 4:35 p.m., Thursday, March 5, 2020, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.

Jack will be missed by his wife, Judith Ann (McDowell) Flowers Callahan of Vevay, IN; his son, Robert William Callahan of Indianapolis, IN; his daughters, Dorinda K. Mann of Indianapolis, IN and Rhonda Ann Day and her husband, Kenneth of Indianapolis, IN; his step-son, John Robert Flowers and his wife, Marsha of Indianapolis, IN; his step-daughter, Monica Sue Burris of Indianapolis, IN; his grandchildren, Lee Callahan and Robert William Callahan, Jr.; his great-grandchildren, Cierra, Cody, Caleb and Starr Callahan; his step-grandchildren, Cody and Mathew Burris and Robert Mounce, Jr. and Dalton Mounce; his step-great-grandchildren, Amelia and Evelyn Burris and his sister, Mary Williams of Greenwood, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Henry and Bessie E. (Thompson) Callahan; his brothers, Albert, Roy and Guy Callahan and his sister, Dorothy Crawford.

Services will be held at a later date.

Interment will be held at a later date in the Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana.
