Obituary for James William "Bill" Metcalfe

Mr. James William "Bill" Metcalfe, age 70, of Florence, Indiana, entered this life on December 31, 1951 in Patriot, Indiana. He was the son of the late William Thomas Metcalfe and Betty Joe (Miller) Metcalfe Harding. Bill was raised in Patriot, Indiana where he attended school. On December 2, 1972, Bill was united in marriage to Linda Carol Gibson in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Bill and Linda shared nearly 47 years of marriage together until she passed from this life on March 5, 2019. Bill was formerly employed for Eades Logging for several years. He also owned and operated Metcalfe Logging of Florence, Indiana for several years. Bill enjoyed trucking, working on semi trucks, welding and watching Jeopardy and westerns on TV. Bill passed away at 7:40 a.m., Sunday, March 6, 2022, at the St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, Kentucky.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Billie Metcalfe of Rising Sun, IN; his grandchildren, Will Metcalfe, Sierra Metcalfe, Chelsey Emery, Michael Emery, Destini Damerst, Tristen Damerst; his great-grandchildren, Ayla Savage, Kamdyn Burk, Dixie Schurhamer, Ryder Emery and Christopher Jackson Baatz; his sister, Wanda Rudisell of Cincinnati, OH and Vickie Henderson of Patriot, IN; his half-brother, Joseph Harding and his several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas Metcalfe and Betty Joe (Miller) Metcalfe Harding; his wife, Linda Carol (Gibson) Metcalfe; his brother, Lehman Allen "Pete" Metcalfe; his sister, Reva Fliehman; his niece, Angela "Carol" Hardin; his step-sons, Donald Ray and Terry Lee Gibson and his step-father, Joseph Harding.

Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 10, 2022, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 10, 2022, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
