Obituary for Janet Sue Forwood (Adam)

Mrs. Janet Sue (Adam) Forwood, age 79, of Rising Sun, Indiana, entered this life on December 31, 1940 in New Albany, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late Herman G. and Mary (Harpe) Adam. She was raised in New Albany, Indiana where she was a 1958 graduate of the New Albany High School. Janet was united in marriage on August 21, 1984 in Pensacola, Florida to the late Garry Wayne Forwood. Janet and Garry shared over 35 years of marriage together until he passed away on November 15, 2019. Janet was employed for the Floyd County Bank in the loan department for several years. She served as deputy circuit clerk for the Switzerland County Clerks Office from 1977-1980 and as deputy treasurer for the Switzerland County Treasurers Office from 1980-1983. Janet was employed as the community manager for Sun Community Manufactured Homes in Merritt Island, Florida. Janet was a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Patriot, Indiana. Janet passed away at 11:26 a.m., Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at The Water's of Rising Sun in Rising Sun, Indiana.

Janet will be missed by her son, Charles Timothy "Tim" White and his wife, Teresa of Aurora, IN; her daughter, Debra Weir and her husband, Jeff of Commiskey, IN; her grandchildren, Trenton Weir, James Weir, Heather Cook and her husband, Brad and Timothy Adam White and his wife, Samantha; her great-grandchildren, Harper, Dean, Aiden and Aubree; her brother, Danny Adam and his wife, Terri of New Albany, IN; her sisters, Shirley Stroud of New Albany, IN and her several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman G. Adam, died April 12, 1985 and Mary (Harpe) Adam, died April 17, 2002; her husband, Garry Wayne Forwood, died November 15, 2019; her sisters, Joyce Marie Lee and Diana Ivey and her brothers, Forrest Adam, Herbert Adam and Robert Adam.

Due to COVID--19 restrictions, a private graveside service was conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 29, 2020, by Rev. Mike Jones in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
