Obituary for Jo Green (Orem)
Mrs. Jo (Orem) Green, age 83, of Center Square, Indiana, entered this life on July 15, 1937 in Aurora, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late John Lucian "Red" and Edna M. (Probst) Orem. She was raised in Aurora, Indiana where she was a 1955 graduate of Aurora High School. Jo was a 1956 graduate of the John Robert Powers School of Modeling in Cincinnati, Ohio. Jo was united in marriage on January 19, 1957 in Madison, Indiana to Charles Green. This happy union was blessed with two daughters, Jenny and Tracy. Jo and Charlie shared over 58 years of marriage together until he passed away on October 19, 2015. Jo was employed as a secretary for the Soil Conservation Service in Switzerland County, Indiana for 8 years. She was later employed as a dental assistant for Dr. John Rahe in Aurora, Indiana, from 1963-1971. Jo owned and operated Greens Memories from 1971-1979. She was also a former partner in the Vevay Radio Station WMGH in the late 70's. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Aurora, Indiana. She was a member of the Switzerland County Historical Society, Switzerland County First Families, Indiana Pioneers, Daughters of the American Revolution and the Lawrenceburg Order of Eastern Star Chapter #427. Jo was Past Honored Queen of the Bethel of Job's Daughters International. Jo enjoyed stripping furniture and collecting antiques. Jo passed away at 8:46 p.m., Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at the Englewood Community Hospital in Englewood, Florida.
Jo will be missed by her daughters, Jenny McClurg and her husband, Kenny of Bennington, IN and Tracy Naegele and her husband, Russ of Madison, IN; her grandchildren, Erin Jackson, Myra Fields, Tobie McClurg, Erica Soule and Ginger Naegele; her several great-grandchildren; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-laws, Lucille and Cherry Phillips of Vevay, IN, Linda Poling of Quercus Grove, IN, Catherine McManus of Vevay, IN, Ivan and Dollie Green of Patriot, IN, Billie Jo Green of Vevay, IN and Alberta Reed of Waldron, IN and her numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Lucian "Red" Orem, died March 13, 1967 and Edna M. (Probst) Orem, died December 24, 1988; her husband, Charles Green, died October 19, 2015; her brother, Gerry Lucian Orem, died August 27, 1932 and her sister, Elizabeth Ann Orem, died July 22, 1933.
