Obituary for John "Cliff" Clifford Miller

Mr. John Clifford "Cliff" Miller, age 64, of Bennington, Indiana, entered this life on September 4, 1956 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was the son of late Louis W. "Lou" Miller and Ruth V. "Ruthie" (Joyce) Kiedel. Cliff was raised on Buffalo Ridge in Cleves, Ohio with his five brothers and one sister. He attended Taylor High School, where he played football. During these years, he loved playing Summer League Softball as well with his brothers. Cliff had a storybook kind of love; he was united in marriage to Darla Sue Parnell and together they were blessed with a daughter, Bridgette and a son, Brandon. Many don’t get to say they married their soulmate twice, but Cliff and Darla did. This happy union brought Cliff two additional stepdaughters, Brittany and Bethany. Cliff and Darla Miller spent nearly 27 blissful years together and they made each day count. Cliff worked as a concrete finisher most of his life, learning the trade as a young boy from his father. As a boy, he developed a passion for all things outdoors. He was an avid hunter and trapper. He had a hobby of collecting all things, but mostly passionate about his guns. He loved riding Harleys on the road and his side by side through the woods. He was the life of the party, he enjoyed sharing jokes and laughing with his friends. He was an avid storyteller. Most of all, he enjoyed spending quality time with his family and making them feel happy and loved. He was a giver. He made the ultimate decision to give his life to Christ in 2013. Cliff will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grand-father, and brother. Cliff was surrounded by his wife Darla, daughter Bridgette, and granddaughters Brooke and Summer as he gained his wings after a long battle, at 11:52 p.m., Monday, March 15, 2021 at the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Cliff will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Darla Sue (Parnell) Miller of Bennington, IN; his daughter, Bridgette Michelle Shaw and her husband, Joseph of Greendale, IN; his step-daughters, Brittany Lynn Napolitano and her husband, Nick of Columbus, OH, and Bethany Anne Heffelmire of Aurora, IN; his grandchildren, Brooke Mae-Leigh Dickerson of Okeana, OH, Summer Jewell Dickerson of Vevay, IN, Brendan Anthony Miller of Schenectady, NY, and Zoey Weimer and Zabrina Herman of Aurora, IN; his great-grandchildren, Rhett Michael Huff of Vevay, IN; his brothers, Jim (Jackie) Miller of Okeana, OH, Jerry Miller of Cleves, OH, Bob (Candie) Miller of Cleves, OH, Jocko (Geralynn) Miller of East Enterprise, IN, and Ronnie (Susie) Miller of Cleves, OH and his several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his cherished son, Brandon Michael Miller, died May 8, 2012; his parents, Louis W. "Lou" Miller, died September 3, 1990 and Ruth V.
