Obituary for Judith Kay "Judy" Martin (Flynn)
Mrs. Judith Kay (Flynn) Martin, age 74, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on December 14, 1947 in Hamilton, Ohio. She was the daughter of Eugene Flynn who preceded her in death and Mary G. "Jenny" (Dunbar) Burton. She was raised in Mount Healthy, Ohio where she attended Mount Healthy High School. On December 2, 1971, Judy was united in marriage to Huey Ray Martin in Jellico, Tennessee. They were blessed with six children and shared over 39 years of marriage together until Huey passed away on June 6, 2010. Judy was employed as a cook for Little Lambs Daycare in Vevay, Indiana for five years. She was also employed as a cook for Roxano's in Vevay, Indiana for three years. Judy was later employed for Indiana Mercantile - Swiss Embroidery in Vevay, Indiana for six years. Judy was a faithful member of the Vevay Assembly Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and organized skits for several years. She was also a part of Aglow Ministries. Judy was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed crafts, going to church and reading. Judy passed away with her loving family by her side at 3:00 a.m., Thursday, January 13, 2022, at her residence.
Judy will be missed by her children, Becky Meyerhoff and her husband, Michael of Vevay, IN, Rachel Compton of Vevay, IN, Angie Simone of Carolina Beach, NC, Donna Johnson of Haverhill, OH, Jenny Martin of Vevay, IN and James Martin of Vevay, IN; her grandchildren, Brianne (Pete) Swango, Chaithy Compton, Chyna (Steve) Hickman, Michael Martin, Luke (Kristina) Compton, Gabrielle Simone, Elijah Martin, Matthew Hays, Sarah Hays, Bethany Bailey and Emily Bailey; her 12-great-grandchildren; her mother, Mary G. "Jenny" (Dunbar) Burton of Madison, IN; her faithful fur baby, Doodle of Vevay, IN; her brother, Gerald Douglas "Doug" Burton of Seymour, IN; nieces and nephews, Christian (Krista) Burton and Autumn (Randy) Welch and distant cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Flynn and her husband, Huey Ray Martin.
A Celebration of Judy's Life will be conducted Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at 5:00 p.m., by Pastor G.B. Turner at the Vevay Assembly Church, 721 E. Main Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
A Memorial Gathering will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at the Vevay Assembly Church, 721 E. Main Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
