Obituary for Karsen Elyse Cook

Karsen Elyse Cook, age 23, of Switzerland County, Indiana, entered this life on December 4, 1996 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of Timothy Wayne "Tim" Cook and Ginger Renee (Smith) Kincaid. Karsen was raised in Rising Sun, Indiana and was a 2015 graduate of the Rising Sun High School. In the summers, Karsen was employed for Cocoa Tan in Vevay, Indiana for a few years. On January 25, 2017, Karsen and Richie were blessed with a daughter, Kambrie Elyse Lay and she was the joy and light of her life. On October 13, 2017, Karsen and Richie got engaged at the Newport Aquarium with their loving daughter present. In June 2018, Ginger established The Kooky Kokonut in Vevay, Indiana where Karsen was employed from June 2018 - September 2019. Karsen received her Bachelor's of Science Degree in Business Administration from Indiana University on December 16, 2019. Karsen was later employed as a scheduling specialist for Belterra Casino & Resort in Florence, Indiana from October 2019 to present. She was a faithful member of the Olive Branch Baptist Church in Bear Branch, Indiana where she was baptized in 2009. Karsen enjoyed going to the beach, spending time with her family and friends, four wheeling, boating, reading and going to church. Most of all, Karsen loved doing everything for her daughter, Kambrie. Karsen's journey began on May 20, 2019 when they found a mass on her colon. She spent the next several months sharing her journey and being such a strong inspiration for others by her faith in God. Karsen's faith moved mountains and touched many hearts throughout her journey. Karsen never complained and was always positive with a beautiful smile on her face that would always light up a room. "But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind" James 1:6. Karsen went to be with Jesus with her loving family by her side at 3:40 p.m., Friday, September 4, 2020, at the IU Health North Hospital in Carmel, Indiana.

Karsen will be deeply missed by her daughter, Kambrie Elyse Lay of Switzerland County, IN; her mother and step-father, Ginger Renee (Smith) and Scotty Kincaid of Rising Sun, IN; her father, Timothy Wayne "Tim" Cook and his companion, Jessica Ballard of Rising Sun, IN; her fiancé, Richie Lay and his family of Switzerland County, IN; her brothers, Tyler Cook of Rising Sun, IN, Keegan Kincaid and his wife, Tealsee of Patriot, IN and Hunter Kelley of Rising Sun, IN; her sisters, Kelly Jo Kincaid and her companion, John Craig II. of Patriot, IN and Bowen Cook of Rising Sun, IN; her nephews, John Craig III., Brixx Kincaid and Adari Kincaid; her maternal-grandparents, Gardy and Priscilla "Toy" Smith of Patriot, IN; her paternal-grandparents, Donnie and Mona Cook of Rising Sun, IN; her maternal aunts and uncles, Carol and Mike Poling of Quercus Grove, IN, Gina and Jason Hall of Hidden Valley, IN and Troy Smith of Patriot, IN; her paternal aunt and uncle, Jana and Maurice Norvell of Rising Sun, IN and her several cousins, great-aunts, great-uncles and numerous friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal-great-grandparents, Wilford Conway "Bill" and Jewell Ray "Judy" (Clemons) Dickerson and Hobart M. and Ada M. (Koons) Smith; her paternal great-grandparents, Willie Edward and Elma Marie (Ryle) Cook and Virgil Lee and Tina Helen (Hobbs) Hutton.

Interment will follow in the Eastview Cemetery in Patriot, Indiana.
