Obituary for Kathryn B. Hoskins (Robertson)
Mrs. Kathryn B. (Robertson) Hoskins, age 99, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on May 5, 1921 in Carrollton, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late William Ernest and Vera (King) Robertson. Kathryn was better known as “Katie B.” She graduated from Carrollton High School in 1940. Kathryn married Elisha B. Hoskins on July 16, 1940 in Carrollton, Kentucky. She and Elisha were members of Bedford United Methodist Church in Bedford, Kentucky. Kathryn and Elisha moved from Bedford, Kentucky in 1955 to a farm on Hwy 56 in Vevay, Indiana. Katie B. was a member of the Bennington Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 407 and Order of Eastern Star Carroll Chapter No. 442. She did volunteer work first at the Lord’s Cupboard in Vevay and in Rising Sun for many years. She enjoyed quilting and needle work, caring for her grandchildren, gardening and canning her harvest. Katie B. always had room at her dinner table; she spent many years in the kitchen making home cooked meals for neighbors, farm hands and seasonal hunters. Katie B. passed away at 5:48 a.m., Sunday, June 21, 2020, at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana.
Kathryn will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Clarica Mathews and her husband, Paul of Cross Plains, Indiana; her daughter Marjorie Hoskins of Vevay, Indiana; her son Billy Hoskins and his wife Tammy of Vevay, Indiana; seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and seven great-great- grandchildren.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother, James King Robertson and her great-grandchild, Little McKinley Carver Pennington.
