Life Story for Kathy Sue Burton (Green)
Mrs. Kathy Sue (Green) Burton, age 65, of Moorefield, Indiana, entered this life on August 17, 1953, in Shelbyville, Indiana, the loving daughter of the late, Arthur "Buddy" and Olive Frances (Baatz) Green. She attended the Switzerland County High School in Vevay, Indiana. Kathy was united in marriage on March 11, 1988, in Bedford, Kentucky, to James "Jim" Burton. Kathy and Jim shared 31 years of marriage together until her death. Kathy was employed for the US Shoe Factory in Vevay, Indiana, for 28 years. Kathy was also employed as a slot attendant for Belterra Casino and Resort in Florence, Indiana, for four years. Kathy was employed as a stocker for Walmart, retiring after nine years of service. She resided in the Switzerland County community since 1962. Kathy attended the Mt. Sterling Baptist Church in Mt. Sterling, Indiana. Kathy will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends. Kathy passed away at 2:25 p.m., Friday, March 8, 2019, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.
Kathy will be lovingly remembered by her husband, James Edward "Jim" Burton of Moorefield, IN; her daughter, Pennie Rabe-Fleener and her husband, Shane Fleener of North Vernon, IN; her son, Gary Jones of Madison, IN; her step-daughter, Suzanne McStoots and her husband, Paul of Louisville, KY; her grandchildren, Zarek, Zakira, Chandler, Jessie and Cory; her step-grandchildren, Benjamin, Kalynn and Morgan; her brothers, Larry Green and his wife, Frances of Madison, IN and Richard Green of KY and her several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur "Buddy" Green, died July 23, 2011 and Olive Frances (Baatz) Green, died August 11, 2005.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., by Rev. Mike Sawalich, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
