Obituary for Kenneth Leroy Tucker

Mr. Kenneth Leroy Tucker, age 79, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on July 16, 1942 in Madison, Indiana. He was the son of the late, George Dewey and Muriel Gertrude (Romans) Tucker. Kenneth was raised in Vevay, Indiana where he attended Vevay High School. Kenneth was inducted into United States Army in October 1960 and was honorably discharged with the rank of Private First Class on November 15, 1962. He re-enlisted on November 27, 1962 in Grafenwohr, Germany. He received the Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged on May 27, 1968 with the rank of Staff Sergeant at Warner Barracks, Bamberg, Germany. Kenneth was a former bartender for Cuzz's Bar and for the Vevay American Legion Post #185 in Vevay, Indiana. He was employed for Randall's Textron in Vevay, Indiana, as well as, Dorman Products in Warsaw, Kentucky. Kenneth resided all of his life in the Vevay community and was a member of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and the Vevay VFW Post #5396. Kenneth will be remembered for his love of reading and walking around town. Kenneth passed away at 4:27 a.m., Thursday, April 21, 2022, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.

Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Lisa Carter and her husband, John of Riverview, FL; his granddaughters, April Carter and Rebecca Leinwand; his great-grandchildren, Lennox and Lawson Leinwand; his sister, Sue Armstrong of Greensburg, IN; his sister-in-law, Kathy Tucker of Vevay, IN; his nieces and his caregivers, Sharon McClure of Pleasant, IN, Karen Green of Vevay, IN, Phyllis Chase and her husband, Dennis of Florence, IN and Debbie Wilhoite of Vevay, IN and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Dewey and Muriel Gertrude (Romans) Tucker; his son, Brian Tucker; his great-grandson, Levi Leinwand; his brothers, Donald (Dorothy Wilhoite) Tucker and Ralph Tucker; his sister, Geneva Green; his nephews, Shawn Armstrong and Billy Wilhoite; his nieces, Sonya White and Adianna Armstrong; and his brothers-in-law, Earl Green and Duane Armstrong.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 28, 2022, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 28, 2022, by Bro, Ronald Romans, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment and full military rites will be conducted by the Honor Guard of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and the Vevay VFW Post #5396 in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
