Life Story for Linda Carol Metcalfe (Gibson)

Mrs. Linda Carol (Gibson) Metcalfe, age 65 years, of Florence, Indiana, entered this life on August 9, 1953, Logan County, West Virginia, the daughter of the late, Donald Ray Gibson and Della (Dempsey) Gibson-Roy. She was raised in Lebanon, Ohio and attended the Lebanon High School. Linda was united in marriage on December 2, 1972 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, to James William "Bill" Metcalfe. Linda and Bill shared nearly 47 years of marriage together until her death. Linda was employed in housekeeping for Rising Star Casino Resort in Rising Sun, Indiana, for four years and in the deli department for Belterra Casino & Resort in Florence, Indiana, retiring after 12 years of service. Linda was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed cooking and baking. She also enjoyed gardening and playing video games on her computer. Linda will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends. Linda passed away at 2:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at the Highpoint Health in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.

Linda will be remembered by her husband, James William "Bill" Metcalfe of Florence, IN; her daughter, Billie Metcalfe of Saint Petersburg, FL; her grandchildren, Will Metcalfe, Sierra Metcalfe, Chelsey Emery, Michael Emery, Destini Damerst, Tristen Damerst; her great-grandchildren, Ayla Savage and Kamdyn Burk; her brother, Ron Gibson and his wife, Sharon of Versailles, IN; her sisters, Mary Marshall and her husband, Kevin of TN and Phyllis Schoffstoll of Morrow, OH and her several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Ray Gibson and Della (Dempsey) Gibson-Roy; her sons, Donald Ray and Terry Lee Gibson; her brothers, Jim and Paul "Bud" Gibson and her sister, Louis Crase.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 8, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., by Pastor Charles Miller, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Friends may call 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 8, 2019, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.
