Obituary for Lloyd Laib
Mr. Lloyd Laib, age 63 of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on May 20, 1957 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was the loving son of the late Francis Laib and Viola (Alford) Laib Proctor. He was raised in Switzerland County, Indiana and was a 1975 graduate of the Switzerland County High School. Lloyd was united in marriage on June 16, 1984 to Shawn Yocum at Grants Creek Baptist Church in Rising Sun, Indiana. He was later united in marriage on March 2, 2007 to Cindy Rider at New Liberty Baptist Church in East Enterprise, Indiana. Lloyd was formerly employed for Cross Plains Milling in Cross Plains, Indiana for six months. He was also formerly employed in maintenance for the Swiss Villa Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana for nine years and was later employed for McCubbin Motors in Madison, Indiana for six months. Lloyd was also employed for the Town of Vevay for one year and Pearson Hollwell (Hollywood Casino) in Lawrenceburg, Indiana for three years. Lloyd retired in 2009 from Swiss Caps in Patriot, Indiana as a painter and prep mold maintenance technician. He resided in the Switzerland County community all of his life. Lloyd was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church in East Enterprise, Indiana. He enjoyed woodworking, working with numbers and hiking as well as going to the park and camping. Lloyd passed away at 8:40 p.m., Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at the Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
Lloyd will be missed by his son, Jason Lloyd Laib and his wife, Silver Maria of Sanders, KY; his daughter, Sarah Marie Stewart and her husband, T.J. of Florence, IN; his grandchildren, Emily Grace Laib, Abigail Morgan Laib, Kayleigh Brooke Stewart and Bailey Nicole Lynn Stewart.
He was preceded in death by his father, Francis Laib, died January 1957 and his mother, Viola (Alford) Laib-Proctor, died June 1990.
