Mrs. Mary G. "Jenny" (Dunbar) Burton, age 95, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on January 8, 1927 in Ono (Russell County), Kentucky. She was the loving daughter of the late, Henry and Iza (Poppewell) Dunbar. She was raised in Hollow Rock, Tennessee where she attended school. Jenny was united in marriage on June 25, 1949 in New Port, Kentucky to the late, Frank P. Burton. This happy union of over 29 years was blessed with a daughter, Judith and a son, Gerald. Jenny resided in the Fairfield, Ohio community for 27 years. She was employed as an activities aide for Hillendale Health Care in Hamilton, Ohio for six years. She was later employed as an activities and nurse's aide for Sunny Breeze Nursing Home in Cincinnati, Ohio for seven years. Jenny later moved to the Vevay community in 1997. She was a former member of the Switzerland County Community Church and was a member of the Vevay Assembly Church in Vevay, Indiana. She enjoyed playing the tambourine in church and was active in the prayer group. She was a strong pillar in her church and was a servant of God. She led Bible study at Swiss Villa Nursing Home and at the Switzerland County jail. She loved helping with activities for the elderly at the Jack Sullivan Senior Center in Vevay, Indiana. Jenny also enjoyed reading, traveling on mission trips, dancing and singing, as well as, knitting and quilting. Nanny will be deeply missed by her loving family. Jenny passed away at 12:40 a.m., Sunday, January 30, 2022, at the Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison, Indiana.

Jenny is survived by her son, Gerald Douglas "Doug" Burton of Seymour, IN; her grandchildren, Becky Meyerhoff and her husband, Michael of Vevay, IN, Rachel Compton of Vevay, IN, Angie Simone of Carolina Beach, NC, Jenny Martin of Vevay, IN, James Martin of Vevay, IN, Christian Burton and his wife, Krista of Dillsboro, IN and Autumn Welch and her husband, Randy of Seymour, IN; her great-grandchildren, Brianne (Pete) Swango, Chaithy Compton, Chyna (Steve) Hickman, Michael Martin, Luke (Kristina) Compton, Gabrielle Simone, Elijah Martin, Jordan Rayburn, Billy (Kristina) Rayburn, Carly Amy, Breonna Burton, Alyssa (Taylor) Couch, Bryce Burton, Christian Burton II., Alexandria Welch and Kylie Bockleman and her 20-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Iza (Poppewell) Dunbar; her husband, Frank P. Burton; her daughter, Judith Kay "Judy" (Flynn) Martin and her son-in-law, Huey Ray Martin.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 11, 2022, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 11, 2022, by Pastor G.B. Turner, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
