Mrs. Mary Lenna (Lawson) Jewell, age 78, of Lamb, Indiana, entered this life on September 4, 1943 in Trimble County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late, James William and Ada Mae (Poe) Lawson. She attended school in Bedford, Kentucky and later moved to the Switzerland County community in 1958. On January 24, 1958, Mary was united in marriage to William Boone "Bill" Jewell in Trimble County, Kentucky. This union of 61 years was blessed with two sons, Steve and Tim, Mary was employed for the US Shoe Factory in Madison, Indiana for eight years. She was also a former employee for Arvin Sango in Madison, Indiana and for the Ogle Haus in Vevay, Indiana. Mary was a member of the Union Baptist Church in Lamb, Indiana. She enjoyed playing cards, reading her Bible and gardening. She loved her dogs, Diesel and Harley. Mary will be remembered for her love for her granddaughter and great-granddaughter that brought so much joy to her life. Mary passed away at 9:38 p.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at the Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Mary is survived by her son, Tim Jewell and his wife, Sherri of Lamb, IN; her granddaughter, Erin Brunck and her husband, Mark; her great-granddaughter, Alexis Brunck and her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James William and Ada Mae (Poe) Lawson; her husband, William Boone "Bill" Jewell, died December 11, 2019; her son, Steve Daniel Jewell, died March 14, 2018; her brother, L.G. Lawson and her sisters, Bonnie Burbank and Wanda Penick.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Sunday, April 24, 2022, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, April 24, 2022, by Rev. Mike Barnes, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Grandview Cemetery in Madison, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Union Baptist Church.
